Denied Check-In and Pressured to Cancel Booking
I was denied check-in on the day I arrived. I had to urgently book alternative accommodation.
When I was denied accommodation, I was told that "something broke in the electrical system, and the technician can only come on Monday (the day of our departure)." I was also asked to cancel the booking myself. When I refused, explaining that if I did, Booking would charge me, I was told, "No, this is my decision, I won't charge you, but you need to cancel the booking because otherwise my rating will go down." I've been using Booking for a long time precisely because accommodations with high ratings are usually a reliable choice. And since my counterpart never canceled the booking themselves, it seems the task of lowering the rating now falls on me.
