Very large historical cottage with many good features. Lovely view (when the weather permits). Really comfortable, has nearly all you need (with the exception of an electric clothes dryer). Crispy clean linen and furnishings.
Having to pay extra for additional hours of heating was not really ideal. However, when I messaged the owner and discussed the fact that I'm an early riser, he adjusted the morning heater time to accommodate my needs. Very considerate of him. There was no clothes dryer so I needed to hang all my clothes on an indoor clothes horse for a couple of days due to the constant rain.

We had stayed in this lovely cottage some years ago with our whole family during the summer, so were pleased to come back in winter. The house is cosy and clean with plenty of space upstairs and down. We love the location, an easy walk to the local pub and a short drive to other nearby towns - we'd recommend Carrickfin Beach, Crolly's Distillery and Leo's pub for traditional music. We had a problem when entering the property and the owner answered quickly when we called and arranged for us to have a free drink at the pub while the matter was resolved - no complaints about that!

The cottage itself was very quaint and spacious. Nice beds.
The downstairs shower was not good and you had to pay extra for hot water outside morning and evening hours. No outdoor chairs.

Loved the layout of the house, the turf fire, excellent facilities and situation of the house.
Everything was excellent, heating wee bit tricky but one phone call to the owner had that sorted immediately

One bed upstairs slightly lumpy.

Like how quaint the cottage was. Good location. Kitchen was well equipped.
Mattress were very basic spring Mattress in the bedroom upstairs. For the price a few basics like tea and coffee would have been nice. Cleanliness overall was fair but lots of cobwebs throughout but it is an old cottage

Cottage was spotless clean, it has everything you need for a night or 2 away with family/friends. Great location with a little pub nearby with great food. Close to Mount Errigal and other tourist spots in Donegal.
Temperature of cottage was fine for us, we stayed in May but could see how it would get cold in the winter months. However with the heating on it heated up very quickly!

A beautiful house, very comfortable
We didn't get any hot water, fortunately one shower heated the water independently from the main boiler

Clean, comfortable, cosy and beautiful.
3 minute walk to the pub/restaurant (food was delicious)
2min walk to the grocery shop/cafe
The hosts left turf and kindling for the fire which was just enough for the evening.
All instructions were clear and easy to follow.

Enchanting holiday home with all the comforts and loads of space for a family holiday. Loughanure is well located for an off the beaten track vacation - stunning beaches and a variety of walks at your doorstep.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location. Bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable and it was only a short stroll to the local shop and restaurant which were both great. A wonderful base from which to explore all the beauty of the area! We would love to visit again and are recommending it to friends and family. Thank you Stephen and Dervilla.
No complaints at all!

Historic space with great scenery and access to local Donegal activities.
The lower level of the house was chilly and as we traveled with an elderly family members, it wasn’t comfortable for them, even after paying extra money into a cash utility box onsite. Seeing the house linens/towels on the backyard line for multiple days wasn’t reassuring as to cleanliness standards, either.

Easy to find, ease of access and on the wild Atlantic way which I was riding with my brother in law.

was charming and aesthetically appealing.
it was cold, heating only comes on once in the morning and once in the evening. think it’s remotely controlled from elsewhere.

The cottage is lovely and huge, it's for 7 people and it's great. We were only 2 and the dog, and the place was to big for us. For 2 people it's not cozy. The kitchen had everything you needed, bedrooms were big and comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and ok. The dining area was very comfortable but we didn't use it because we preferred the sitting area upstaris. Stephen was very helpful. All in all it is a lovely place to stay, I wouldn't use it again if it were only us, but if we had family over, I would definitely visit again.
It was cold! I mean cold cold!!! I don't know if we stayed the coldest week of the year or if the place was too big or if the heating wasn't on enough.

The cottage is spacious, cozy and comfortable. Everything supplied that we needed. We will return and also recommend to friends and family.
Downstairs shower took a while to work out how to get the hot water flowing but otherwise wonderful.

loved the location, the thatch, fire , cosy beds
poor Wi-Fi. could only really have 1 person online at a time
9.0 / 10.0
The character of the original building was retained, there was fuel for a turf fire, the blinds kept out the morning sun completely and I have not slept so well in ages.
Given that the house could easily sleep 10, a few more glasses would be a good idea. Otherwise everything was well provided for.

A pretty thatched cottage that is modern and light with a reasonably sized garden for kids to play in. Bedrooms are a good size and comfortable. The area is beautiful with wonderful scenery and the cottage is easy walking distance to the shop/garage and local bar/restaurant. Good communication with the owners.

Was very annoyed to find out they didnt have the dryer facilities they claimed to have on their ad. We were backpacking and had booked planning to do all our laundry at this halfway point and had to take everything with us wet. Also, very deceiving about location and views.....they are in the middle of town with only views of the mountains from upstairs sitting room; they gave you the impression from their photos they were outside of the village with beautiful views and space. Yard was very unkept. Lots of weird instructions about heat and hot water; only available a few hours in the morning and evening then on some coin operated meter??
