Summerhill Cottage

The size of the property and the configuration of the rooms was ideal for our purposes. Views are spectacular. Location is remote (which we liked), and journey time to great local places (Windermere; Kendal; Fell Foot Park; Cartmel; Lake; Etc) was not a problem. Garden is ideal for small children (who loved exploring the house and the garden). The property is quite dated, though we loved this as it brings real character. Overall, this was great value for money. Will definitely consider staying again.

The interior of the property could benefit from a one-off deep clean, as several areas have cobwebs, accumulated dust, etc. Standardised messages prior to arrival and within the property are quite cold and not very friendly/welcoming, though the little contact I had with Aly suggests management is helpful. There's a minor error in the directions (not signed 'Windermere/Kendal' as stated in second paragraph, as should say 'Bowness/Windermere', though anyone using satnav/maps will probably not be following the written directions anyway).

Cosy and great location. Fireplace is amazing and the beds are comfortable.

The downstairs bathroom is a bit smelly.

Quaint cottage inline with expectation for the area. Spacious to accommodate 6 of us. Quiet location away from the crowds. Well appointed in terms of dishwashers and washing machines etc

Garden overgrown and could benefit from some TLC. Garden bench table also could be upgraded or fixed. Only 4 wine glasses and no corkscrew! Drip coffee machine was moldy, so maybe an upgraded machine. 65 spoons but only 10 knives and a few more forks.
