Nice place but do not forget that is common spaces are shared with other strangers

Beautiful place, nice old design, sparkling clean, well equipped kitchen, great front yard, responsive host, good value for the money.

It is difficult to figure in the description exactly what you will get. We rent 2 rooms, we knew that we have a shared bathroom, toilet, kitchen and living room but we found out that is shared with another room, the third one. So at 23h00 in the night, when we were already in our beds, we found out that some strangers are coming and walking all over the place in the common areas, next to our rooms, after all day was there just my family. After they were using the toilets, showers, kitchen, so on, they got into their room, which was next to one of ours and during half an hour we could listening their conversations like they were beside us because the walls seems to be very thin. So except these, we did enjoyed the staying, the place is really nice.

Clean, fully equipped kitchen. Nice chairs, desks, coach in the common room, this was fine.

My room has windows opposite to the church. Few times during the night I woke up due to the "clock-bell". Church bells woke me up at 6 o'clock. I bought earplugs, and yet it was fine. Strange kind of guests were in the apartments down there (cigarettes and lighters laying on the staircase). But I didn't interfere with them. Yearly check-out (until 9:30). Parking is free, but hard to find a free spot.

Cosy traditional guesthouse

The guesthouse is situated in a calm, quiet area in Knielingen, Karlsruhe. The tram line S5 is in a few minutes walk - it takes to Karlsruhe's centre in ca. 20 minutes. There are some restaurants in the neighborhood, supermarket and pharmacy is in 10-12 minutes walk (or 4-5 minutes with tram). The apartment was cozy and clean, the kitchen was equipped with all necessary tools and machines (fridge+freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster). Towels and a hair drier was provided in the bathroom. The living room/bedroom (one large room) had 3 single beds and a couch, they were comfortable. Our host was helpful, even with our special requests, checkin and checkout went smoothly. Good value for money, I recommend it.

It is not the fault of the guesthouse, but the bells of the church next to the house ring at every 15 minutes, even at night, it was disturbing. The host communicated mostly in German, even though we indicated that we prefer English. Still, we could manage everything.

No breakfast provided and the couch/bed had bugs. The air conditioning system was poor. It blew hot air into the room from the back hose and cool air from the front.

Nice property, let down by the noise of the bells of the local church

The property is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood. The apartment (Number 7) was very clean as were the shared facilities - kitchen and bathroom. Local tram stop (Rheinbergerstrasse) gives easy access to Karlsruhe and in the other direction to Woerth / Pfalz.. The local regional station (Karlsruhe-Knielingen) is a bit further away - a 15 minute walk - it offers access to regional trains, although they are relatively infrequent.

The church bells across the road are a major imposition and inconvenience. They ring every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day. Also, they ring for a long time at around 6.30am - for perhaps 10 minutes continually. Very noisy and I'm surprised that this is allowed in Germany as it makes a complete mockery of the "Ruhezeit" (quiet time) that Germans so love. Although is in a residential area, there is no facilities close by - shop, pharmacy, bakery etc. So a tram ride is requried to the nearest supermarket (Penny) at Hergwegstrasse. The facilities available are not clear. There are only 2 washing machines, but these are in other apartments. So some apartments will not have access to these. Were were staying a few days and travelling lightly, so this was a real inconvenience. No laundrettes near by. The pillows in the room are not pillows - like mini quilts. Not very comfortable. Proper pillows would be nice! We never really got to meet the building owners / managers - just randomly met the Hausmeister to arrange payment - more accidentally.

Apartment: excellent :) / The church noise: Chinese torture!!!

Great and friendly host who was always available and also helped out immediately and in a most pleasant manner when I had queries/special requests/problems... :) A lovely spacious apartment with windows on all sides, so great with light and sunshine :) It was also lovely being so high up and being able to look over the roof-tops and onto the surrounding old buildings... There was lots of space to work, eat, relax, sleep...

There is an Evangelical church next to the apartment building and the bells ring 24/7 EVERY 15 MINUTES and also full chimes on the hour AND really long-playing chimes (or should I say, 'noise'!!!) sporadically... AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! Seriously, a wonderful apartment but for me a reason not to stay again. I find it an absolute imposition that the church does this, not even keeping to quiet times from 10pm to 7am. I stayed there 3 nights and left feeling dreadfully tired as it's impossible to get a good night's sleep there, even with earplugs and all the windows closed. I realise that the apartment owners themselves aren't to blame, but the community really does have to have serious words with its church IMHO!!!! The other disadvantage was the extremely narrow and very steep staircase leading to the attic... almost impossible to get up with a proper, big suitcase and luggage.

Unseriös

Nichts. Das Zimmer wurde nicht wie vereinbart ab 16:00 zugänglich gemacht daher keine Bewertung der Unterkunft möglich.

Laut Benachrichtigung des Hotels sollte ich am Tag der Anreise einen Zugangscode zu einer Schlüsselbox für das Zimmer erhalten. Das Zimmer sollte ab 16:00 zur Verfügung stehen. Bis 17:00 erhielt ich allerdings keine Benachrichtigung worauf ich mehrfach versucht habe das Servicetelefon (welches bis 22:00 erreichbar sein sollte) anzurufen. Leider meldete sich immer nur eine Mailbox. Nach Ankunft am Hotel und mehreren Versuchen die Servicenummer zu kontaktieren musste ich mir dann gegen 19:00 ein anderes Hotel suchen. Später am Abend (nach 21:00) erhielt ich dann eine SMS mit den Zugangsdaten, da war ich aber bereits in dem Ersatzhotel eingecheckt. Ich habe die Unterkunft per e-mail kontaktiert und eine Rückerstattung der bereits bezahlten Rechnung geforderter aber bislang außer der Erstantwort quote Sehr geehrter Herr XXX, es tut uns leid für die Unannehmlichkeiten, Ich werde diese Mail am Montag der Geschäftsführung aushändigen und Sie am Nachmittag kontaktieren. MfG Ihr Gästehaus Windheim Team ! unquote keine weiter Reaktion auf meine Forderung erhalten. Dieser Umgang mit einem Gast ist eine absolute Unverschähmtheit. Ich kann jedem Gast nur raten die Rechung nicht vorab zu bezahlen und spätesten am Tag vor der Anreise auf den Zuganscode zur Schlüsselbox zu bestehen.

verkehrgünstig wenn man im Norden KA's zu tun hat, Kontakt zum Anbieter hervorragend (bei Themen wird schnell reagiert), Handtücher//Bettwäsche wird kostenlos bereitgestellt

die FeWo wirkt auf mich über die letzten Jahre mehr und mehr "abgewohnt". Rollos, WLAN, Küchenutensilien über die Zeit vermehrt mit Mängeln zu beobachten.

Wunderschöne Wohnung in einem hübschen alten Fachwerkhaus

Uns hat alles gefallen. Wir lieben diese schöne Wohnung in einem alten Fachwerkhaus. Wir wohnen selbst in KA-Knielingen und renovieren dort gerade unser Haus. So waren schon das zweite mal da, weil die Lage dieser Wohnung, gerade bei uns um die Ecke, ideal ist. Knielingen ist einer der schönsten Stadtteile von KA. Und auch die Entfernung zur City von ca. 8 km kann man bei schönem Wetter gut zu Fuß zurücklegen. Es gibt auch einen durchgehenden Radweg und die Tram fährt im 10-Minuten-Takt (von fast vor der Haustür direkt in die Stadt)

Es gibt nichts, was uns nicht gefallen hat.

Schönes Fachwerkhaus am Naturschutzgebiet

Schöne ruhige Lage nah am Naturschutzgebiet, hübsches Gebäude, gute Anbildung an Öffis. Sehr netter Kontakt mit den Vermietern, direkt geantwortet und geholfen. Internet hat gut funktioniert Sauber

Ein Balken ist auf Kopfhöhe mitten im Durchgang an dem wir uns mehrmals den Kopf angeschlagen haben. Keine Fliegengitter an den Fenstern, weshalb wir sehr viele Moskito Stiche bekommen habe.
