La Maison Gobert Paris Hotel Particulier

The hotel is beautiful and the staff exceptional. It was my first time in Mexico City and I will definitely be back and stay here again. The location is perfect for exploring the entire city. The staff went out of their way to assist with any need and had great recommendations for restaurants.

Pillows were a little hard. I personally prefer a feather pillow not foam.

PROS: Very clean. Personal very kind. Very comfortable bed, hard to come by in a hotel. The neighborhood is very quiet, as the hotel is half a block from an avenue; you can hardly hear the transit. Certainly, I was in a room on the other side of the street, but my kids stayed in a room on the first floor on the street, and they did not hear anything either. WIFI works like a charm.

CONS: Being a hotel for international guests, not having a smart TV is a bummer. It looks like the 32" TV screen is brand new, as the plastic is still on the frame. You only get like 20 channels, all in French. As it is not smart, you can not mirror your phone screen either. So take a Chromecast with you if you want to watch some TV before going to bed. Now, the main issue is what I call this type of hotel 'wall-paper hotels'. You can hear EVERYTHING inside the hotel, a door opening, guests next door talking (as my kids were in the next room, I asked them to whisper amongst themselves not to bother the other guests in the other room). You can hear the water running, the extractor from the upper bathroom working, etc. But this is an issue I also encountered in the US, in hotels and in houses, so maybe it is more common than I would like it to be. As this is a Mansion turned into a hotel, it has those old elevators that go through every room (not available for guests, but they use it to carry things ¿¿??), so you can hear it too in the morning. It is a little far from PARIS center, about 30 minutes by subway to Barrio Latino, for instance. It is not a neighborhood to go around walking, as there is nothing to visit.

Staff communication was great. Also very friendly and helpful. Awesome A/C. There during heat wave so this was essential. Lovely room with suite and courtyard view. Close to metro.
