Pátio Alfama

Loved the location, it was really beautiful and well located to the old city. You could get lost in the meandering streets of Alfama which was magical. The accommodation was other good, the bedroom was nice it has a beautiful ambiant light near the headboard and the bed and pillows are comfy, the lounge was okay to relax in, the bathroom was alright. The terrace was great to have a sit down and listen to the sounds of the neighbourhood while drinking a wine and some eating olives. The washing machine was great to use, you'll need to bring your own laundr powder and also bring your own clothes line or use a rope as there's no permanent retractable line available. Sleep was good, windows worked well to block out any noise but it was an otherwise quiet nights so sleep was good. Note that host unresponsive on booking.com but contactable via whatsapp. Overall enjoyed my stay.

The bathroom doesn't have any windows so the ventilation is lacking, that's understandable given one side of the apartment is a retained structure, however the ventilation fan does definitely need to be upgraded and replaced because it doesn't work well at removing moisture/humidity/ odour post shower or bathroom use (which I believe might be leading to localised mould). The bedroom/lounge windows also do not open fully, only perhaps 10cm, as they are locked with a anti- bugulary device. This also contributes with lacking ventilation within the home. The carpet in the lounge needs to be replaced or steam cleaned as it feels thick with product build up or grime and does not feel good underfoot when barefoot, so best to wear shoes inside. Similarly the couch probably needs a steam clean too. Also there's only cups not glasses for drinking water. Provide a clothes line. I think all these things can be improved on in future. Storage within the bedroom is almost full with other items, so not much for visitors to use. The Lounge Lamp does not work and there's exposed wires behind it

Location was great , in the old part but not to high up . Nice to have little patio too.

Sofa bed uncomfortable…. Just needs a mattress topper

Il est dommage d'avoir un bien si beau et de ne pas l'entretenir... Humidité dans tout le logement, bulles et craquement des murs (photos), salle de bain qui donne un effet de non propreté 1 seul chauffage (dans la chambre) Pas de lumière "d'appoint" dans le salon (la grande noire ne fonctionne pas) Une mise à jour des photos serait un plus...

The key did not work to unlock the door, Magical intervention made the door pop open, but no matter how many times we tried the key did not open the door. We had to use a lock we brought with us.
