Apartment Keka

Amazing stay at Apartment Keka. It is a first floor apartment (accessible from outdoor steps) in a small, walled garden house in the Varos neighborhood of Split Old Town. It felt safe and really quiet. It has a small terrace with 2 bistro tables and 4 chairs. Inside is a small hallway and kitchen and off this is a bathroom (with washing machine), twin room, double room and living room. The air conditioning unit kept the apartment cool. It is really well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery, utensils etc (best supermarket is Spar, 7 mins walk). Coffee machine, dishwasher, coffee, tea, condiments, wash stuff, treats - everything catered for. The owner, Anamarija, is lovely, gave us lots of recommendations and was quick to respond to any queries and give us help. Varos has beautiful narrow cobblestone alleys (lots of steps), old stone houses, and bars and taverns (Konobas) serving traditional Dalmation dishes (this is where the locals go). Split is not cheap but can be very reasonable, especially in this area for eating out. The Jewish quarter Ghetto "Get," (NW of Diocletian's Palace) is great for bars, clubs, and street food (bakeries, focaccia, pizza, coffee, ice creams and house wine are cheap). There is so much to see and do (and most of it free) - it is the perfect sized city, busy and vibrant but very safe and not overwhelming (great for all ages). Book a short (small group) walking tour with a local guide for amazing history and best places to visit. Protected Marjan park is just behind the apartment - beautiful views and walks / treks. Well cared for street cats and kittens! Great beaches over here (quick, easy uber ride). Hundreds of shops in the old town, plus street markets (craft, fish and fruit and veg) or a huge air-conditioned mall (free shuttle bus/uber) or a great second hand clothes shop (30 mins walk). Boat tours to islands looked great too but we ran out of time. Split has it all and Apartment Keka was a fantastic base.

Es war ein richtig gut ausgestattete Wohnung, die absolut den Bildern entsprach! Die Nähe zum Hafen war unschlagbar und mit so einer Ruhe dort hatten wir gar nicht gerechnet :)

The apartment was excellent, with great air conditioning and spotlessly clean. the host provided everything we needed and was extremely helpful in advising us of the area and where to go. Location was amazing, bars restaurants and shops within a 2 minute walk. Definitely recommend this apartment and Split is beautiful
