Katamaran Hotel & Resort Lombok

The staff were beyond friendly and the hotel itself was so nice and beautiful. Also well located at the beach. The staff did an amazing job to help with our engagement proposal

We stayed here for 4 nights in Aug 2026, in a Pool Villa. The resort is located at the far north end of Sengigi, and a Grab/taxi takes at least an hour from the airport. The resort is quite large, and takes up a lot of the beachfront real estate, though is not particularly deep or wide. The grounds are well maintained, though I would not consider immaculate - despite a team of staff scrubbing and sweeping all morning, I still noticed the outside pavers of the walkway looking not so clean throughout our stay. This seems to be the theme of our stay - generally pretty good, but not exceptional or especially luxurious. I enjoyed the Pool Villa with its private pool, loungers, and a covered daybed. The villa is decorated in a mid century modern style, with plenty of walnut colored furniture, earthy tones, and a very comfortable and plush king bed thanks to the mattress pad. 2 sides of the villa are entirely clad in glass to optimize the view and open feel; the clear glass shower is well positioned to look out directly to the pool/patio. There is also an additional outdoor shower just outside the glass enclosure - showering under the sky was a nice experience, I will say. There's no need to worry about privacy however, since the villa is surrounded by high walls and tropical trees. Be aware that none of the pool villas have ocean views, since they're positioned closer to the road; the resort has chosen to optimize the view for the more base room types in both their main building by the smaller pool, as well as a stretch of 2-floor buildings next to the large pool. I liked the breakfast buffet, which was housed in a separate room by The Sail restaurant - it was plentiful and larger than meets the eye; I appreciated the strong focus on Indonesian dishes, and their fresh fruits were very good; however, I don't think the quality was necessarily the highest (eg, the sushi and chawanmushi, some of the pastries, were rather mediocre).

I found the lack of welcome amenities (not even a piece of fruit) in the room a little odd. There is also no second housekeeping or turndown service in the evening. Both of these are pretty standard in my experience when booking a villa room category in a 5-star property. While housekeeping was pretty good, I did notice a lot of smudges on the chrome fixtures and glass doors thanks to oily, sunscreened hands - these were present on check-in, and we subsequently contributed more during our 4 day stay (that were never cleaned). Staff is generally fine - it's what I call well meaning and smiley, but not very detailed or refined. I did make a special request for the villa, but did not get the feeling that there was really any effort from staff to provide it - rather the response was a superficial "we're fully booked right now." I suppose that is fair, Katamaran doesn't seem to be trying to be an especially exclusive or high-end property, but rather feels more like a mass market one.

Friendly staff, excellent location on the beach and fabulous accommodation. Good.management! . We stayed in a villa facing the ocean and staff was nice to book a nearby villa for our kids. Good restos also. Nice Saturday night music and BBQ event

I paid for 3 nights I spent 1 and left because some personal problems, and they didnt refun me the other 2 nights paid for 2 room
