The Puncak Lombok

My husband and I stayed at The Puncak for a week from December 20 - 27, 2025. From the moment we arrived, met the hospitable and charming owners, Jean-Paul (Belgian) and his beautiful wife, Nury (Javanese), took in the magnificent position overlooking the Lombok Strait, we were sold. Neither of us are really into the superficial grandeur you often encounter with the bigger hotels. This was pure, drop dead, beauty. There are only five attached villas all in a row, with two lap pools. No children are allowed. We had the incredible luck to be the only guests at this time, which really surprised us but it meant we had the whole place to ourselves and we were spoiled. The breakfasts, prepared by Nury, are generous and delicious and the one dinner we had there was simple (nasi goreng and mee goreng) but satisfying. Nury is a great cook, adept at both local and western fare. The fellow looking after us, Budi, was sweet, and very thorough cleaning our room and always making sure we were comfortable. I have no idea why this property is way down the list of Lombok hotels on the Booking.com website. It should be right at the top! It's a real gem. By the way, the thumbs down at the bottom of this review was clicked by accident and there seems to be no way I can correct it...

The only complaints (not really complaints, just little observations) were that for two older folks like us the bed was difficult to get in and out of. It's on a wooden platform which you have to negotiate before you actually get to the mattress (which is very comfy by the way) and that made going to bed and getting up a little difficult. The lighting in the room is very low, as they are very eco-conscious, which is admirable but makes reading at night a bit difficult even though they supplied little clip-on reading lamps. The hot water in the shower takes a long time to come through but it just meant we had to turn on the shower in advance before we actually got in it. As I said not complaints, just minor inconveniences.

Sehr schöne Lage. Wertige Zimmerausstattung. Frühstück (grgen Aufpreis) sehr umfangreich und lecker. Betreiber (Eigentümer) sehr engagiert, freundlich und hilfsbereit. Absolut Empfehlenswert!
