One night stay to get away from the mud!

The King room was lovely, bed very comfortable and impeccably clean. Lovely newly refurbished bathroom. Shame there was no breakfast available now, however it was advertised as so.

No reception area which was ok and lady who greeted us was nice, but abrupt. There was no 'welcome to our home'' or 'what are your plans' but hey ho, everyone is busy but didnt get a friendly vibe from her. It is February and chilly. The heating in this lovely, very large room is not working properly even when lady adjusted. I was cold, partner was not, so maybe just me lol. The door handle in the loo was missing and has been for a while according to the reviews. I think I saw it in a drawer. A few pictures on the wall would make it feel less clinical but it was clean and functional. Wiring for the heater in the bathroom looks dodgy. It wasn't working. Nearly fell in the shower. A mat or handrail would be useful and the head needs to be a bit higher but presume the thinking was that the water would not splash out the bath. It does. There was no coffee and not enough milk for 2 people. It's the small things which make a big difference.but all in all, I would stay here again. Oh and if you have a large campervan or motorhome you will not fit round the track to the parking area. We have a SWB converted transit van and there was a few inches to spare.

A quiet spot in a beautiful region

The style up and down. Grandson loved the parakeet.

There was nothing we didn't like but the position of the property would be more recommended to a driver/ car owner...although I was very pleased to find that the bus from St Malo was easy to catch once I had found the boarding and disembarkation points. ( Maybe this instruction could be included. I think most people wouldn't find it easily for themselves.) The walk into town isn't a problem but if done both ways it takes too much of the day.

Good value stopover accommodation

Good communication regarding self check in, huge rooms and beds very comfortable. Secure parking in the property grounds a huge bonus when your car is loaded and a good location not far from St Malo beach and old town. A communal lounge with comfy chairs and a dining table with chairs, which we used to eat our supper snacks. Very convenient and good value for money for our stopover enroute to Cherbourg.

It is an amazing old building which we enjoyed staying in, however some things in the rooms do need attention; one room only had 1 bedside light (no ceiling or wall lights and the other bedside light didn't work), plug for the bath in one room didn't work, knob missing off the inside of the toilet door, tape holding the radiator switch together and the water went off completely for 10 minutes as we were trying to use the bathrooms in the morning, with no explanation or apology.

Character full house

Character full house away from the busy centre. Clean comfortable room and secure parking. Good value for money as we just needed a place to stay before getting the ferry.

We received a message to say that our room was ready but when we got there there was nobody around and no real reception area. After knocking on a door marked private the owners daughter came to our rescue. There was also no one around in the morning to take the keys and as we had a ferry to catch we left them in the most obvious place we could find.

It was quiet and comfortable and ideal for an overnight stop before catching the ferry back to the uk in the morning. Streets were quiet despite being close to main road.

There is not much in the neighbourhood - you need to drive into St Malo to find a restaurant. That’s ok because that’s what we wanted to do .

Very Disappointing Stay

It’s a nice old house - although as it’s got wooden floorboards on our first morning sleeping there the people upstairs woke us at 6am as they were so heavy footed and noisy

The WiFi was absolutely shocking and nonexistent at times - we felt like someone had turned it off - we even had to sit in the garden to watch a programme we were watching as didn’t work in our room - Jules Verne I tried to get her to refund us the last day we were there but she wouldn’t ! We kept having to go to the macdonalds to get WiFi when we needed to enter details for sat nav ! There was no shower curtain to contain the water in the bath Also the doorknob in the loo was hanging off so you couldn’t shut the door properly There is no fridge We just felt it was really bad value for money and expensive as we stayed Friday Saturday and Sunday night She obviously went away for the weekend herself and I know some of the other guests and had to contact her to regarding the WiFi ! I actually felt sorry for the parrot out the back it seems very cruel and it was clawing and biting at the padlock as it wanted to get out of its cage

I do not recommend this place

Not much to be honest

Not great location (far from aint malo and still in city with nothing nearby), not very quiet, i needed to shower seated, I did not sleep great (mainly pillow) and mainly it was really overpriced for me (no breakfast for me as well). More than 100-120 per night including all fees they add afterward is too expensive. In addition the photo of the room I got were misleading compared what I saw while nooking Don’t recommend.

Pleasant setting but unsafe lighting

Nice location, pleasant quiet outlook, convenient for Mc Donald's.

Unsufficient lighting: 1)no lighting entering from the garden at night.2) Lighting for the stairs times out too quickly for the elderly. Leaving us half way up in the dark!!!! 3) no central light, door light switch controls socket by beds where bed side lights were left unplugged.

A bracket for the shower head and a shower screen would cost about €100. Instead I had a one handed shower. Bit of a pain. Not sure why? I managed to dowse the bathroom in water because of it. If you thought about it, you could have a separate toilet as well. Really helpful for what was effectively a four birth.

No one available once we had checked in. Either in the evening or the morning. Fire safety appalling. No smoke detector anywhere. No fire alarm. No fire extinguisher. No exit signs. No fire doors. Bars on the window. No effective escape from the third floor in the event of a fire. Two plants outside the front door full of cigarette ends. No fire instructions.

Disappointing

We never met the owners or anyone except someone ironing, we had a text on the second day asking if we wanted our room cleaning , the bedroom door was very difficult to open and there was no outside space to sit. No local information was provided. A disappointing stay.

It would have been courteous to have been spoken to/ welcomed. No fridge in the room either.

Lovely quiet location. Massive room with extra bed upstairs. Comfortable bed.

The pillows were very uncomfortable. The shower situation was ludicrous. Hand held shower which you had to stand in the bath to use. Plenty of room to fix the shower to the wall and add a shower curtain or screen.
