Because we had trouble with our phone, we were unable to contact the front desk to open the gate for us. As a result, we had to wait outside until another guest arrived and helped us get in.

A great experience.

I was able to come earlier, they took care of my luggage, offered snacks before checking in. The staff is taking very good care of you. The place is quiet, nice, close to restaurants and pier. The ride to airport was before scheduled time, very helpful.

Misleading photos versus reality.

The staff was welcoming upon our arrival and easily helped us arrange a private shuttle to the airport for when we checked out.

We were disappointed to find that the lobby, room, and bathroom did not match the online photos. There were broken window shutters, several loose planks of wood flooring that we tripped over, a dirty bathroom, an uncomfortable bed, and an underwhelming breakfast, so we chose to eat at the airport instead.

A short, sweet and comfy spot to enjoy Fiumicino.

Definitely a property that is pleasant and presents good value to the customer. Great location close to many seafood restaurants and beautiful beaches. The staff were so friendly and we met the owner of the property who was a delight!

The location can be a touch difficult to reach if using public transit. But with a little patience and planning it is definitely worth it. In the future the new commercial port will make this a prime location! The only other thing I would change is adding a couple other breakfast options. Perhaps something savoury.

OK for one night but that’s it.

It had its charm, very vintage-like. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked fine.

At first it was kind of an eerie feeling. Very old-school decorations and it smelled like an old church. We had to check out at 10:30 even though our flight was not until 21:00, so we were just stuck all day with no room to freshen up while it was over 30 degrees celsius outside, and no AC in the "lobby" so that was truly inconvenient and very uncomfortable. The breakfast was very disappointing. No cold cuts or anything to make an actual sandwich, no eggs or anything. Only sweet stuff… The bathroom wasn’t very clean and there were stains on the blanket.

Since a few years we always chose to stay in Fiumicino town in between flights. I would defintely recommend this place: the rooms are clean and spacious, breakfast is provided, and there´s a private parking place. For hot days, there´s also AC. We also had the pleasure to meet the owners at breakfast, have a friendly conversation and pet their cute poodle.

Room was clean, had hot running water, bed comfortable. If you are looking for an inexpensive bare bones place to sleep, this would be the place.

On a questionable street…. My cab driver asked as he dropped us off “would you like my emergency number just in case?” No elevator. Did not look like the photos on website. Behind a locked gate.

Great place to stay near Rome!!

The hosts were very helpful... welcoming and gave us good information. Breakfast was a great selection of breakfast pastries and fruit. Host even made us good coffee. They arranged for our transport to the airport and when one driver didn't come, our host gave us a ride there in his own vehicle....going above and beyond! We also love the area...on the fishing seashore, with a "boardwalk" and restaurants and shops within walking distance. We stayed there a second time on our return, and we really like this quiet, accommodating place so near the airport.

Best B&B near the Rome airport

We love the friendly staff and their helpfulness! The hosts helped us out when we were in a pinch too. We like the town...away from the business of Rome, a fishing town, near the airport, with a boardwalk by the sea to see all the fishing boats. Lots of shops and restaurants as well. Just 10 min to the airport by taxi.

The walls between rooms are thin so you can hear people next door at times - snoring, loud conversation or tv. The TV is all Italian with 1 station in French (maybe aimed at most of their clientele?)

Nice terrace, good bed, comfy room and nice old style decoration of the vila. Very closed to city center with restaurants and shop markets.

The location is a bit far from normal beach, if you are searching for a holiday beach better to choose the other side of the navigable canal.

If you're trying to stay close to the airport, pick closer to the train station in Rome instead

We picked this hotel because it was close to the airport and we had an early flight. It was all just a wee bit off and we were very spoiled from having stayed at some really great spots during our 12-day trip.

When we got to La Maison Royale, the gate was locked and nobody was answering the phone on the number on the sign. Someone eventually came out after we rang the doorbell and waited like three very tired, very sweaty travelers. We entered and there was no AC on in the house. Our room had a unit, but it was turned off. There is no elevator and at check-in nobody helped us with our bags up the stairs. The beds were lumpy, the bathroom needed some caulking around the shower and the tub could've used a scrub. It wasn't the WORST place I've ever stayed, but we stayed at some great places over the course of our 12 days in Italy and Greece. This place was unfortunately at the bottom of our list.

The hotel is terrible, no peace at night, people can easily check in at 01:00, no soundproofing, every time we woke up from noise, no respect. The hotel is not suitable for long-term stays. Wi-fi is terrible, for breakfast you will have water and a croissant that has been lying around for several days. For 5 days, no one cleaned the room, only when we checked in, we were told that we should clean it ourselves, we should throw out the garbage ourselves, if this was indicated in the description, we would never have chosen this hotel. The only normal beach is a 30-minute walk from the hotel. The only thing is that the staff is friendly. Highly do not recommend my rating 1/10

Exceptional

La Maison Royale is the perfect place to recover from jet lag upon arrival in Fiumicino. Gabriel, the owner, has a vast experience and knowledge and travel, providing the best recommendations off the beaten path. Joy is always welcoming and accommodating for all of our requests. He always has a smile. There are many wonderful options for dining, as the location is seaside. Walk the pier and watch the fisherman busy at their catch and see the incredible sunset then wander in any direction for the freshest seafood!

An oasis near Rome Fumicino. We had our flight cancelled twice & this hotel was a great tonic to us . Helpful staff & a comfortable clean air conditioned room. There are plenty of nice restaurants around the corner along the harbour.
