Great for beach lovers and visiting the old city.

The view was breathtaking from the room/ balcony and the location was great as directly above the best beach. It was also a lovely walk (25 min approx) into the old town with no steps except those to the property. It really gave us the best of both worlds. The room was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. There are lots of steps to the property and to access the beach but the steps were easy enough to climb with lots of resting points if needed

Unfortunately it was cold for a few days and we missed out on sitting on the balcony - the room and kitchen were short on places to sit.

Stunning sea view and great host.

The cozy one-room apartment offers a stunning sea view. The bathroom is small but functional. The beach is about 130 steps down the stairs, which adds a nice touch of charm. Ana is a wonderful host with great tips for restaurants and excursions. Her delicious pancakes sweetened our mornings twice and were a real highlight. The walls are a bit thin, so we could often hear the neighbors’ conversations or their TV – and also noticed when they left at 4 a.m.

Me and my partner loved everything about our stay at Sveti Jakov. The host, Ana, was extremely helpful with ideas and advice on what to do, where to eat, what to see, providing homemade pancakes and much,much more. She could not do enough to ensure we had a pleasant stay which truly was amazing. The apartment itself had the most incredible views from the balcony for a breathtaking sunset every night with Dubrovnik in view as well. The apartments location meant that once you walked out of the front gate of the property you were only a stones throw from a lovely beach which was very convenient. All in all an incredible place to stay and to top it all off a brilliant host that goes above and beyond for her guests.

Heartfelt host and room with amazing view!

Ana's sincere welcome, as well as her caring and kind attitude, impressed me. It felt like we were visiting an old friend who genuinely cares for us and ensures that we are secure and comfortable wherever we go. The accommodation was comfortable and tidy, and once you step onto the balcony, your gaze will be drawn away from the stunning view. I literally wanted to be home before sunset so I could take it all in it from the balcony.

There is nothing that I didn’t like about the place but if I have to find something it would be the tons of steps to climb to get in to the room and the fact that most Ubers do not drive you right in front of the apartment because the street is to narrow to drive there comfortable.

Everything!Ana couldn't do enough for us such an amazing host,pancakes and wine on arrival,welcomed us into her home gave us all the information about where to go and visit,the best views,clean and tidy room,the location was so picturesque if you want to visit dubrovnik then stay with her. I cannot stress enough how fantastic,welcoming,kind and cheerful Ana is she maintains this property to the highest standard,surrounding gardens beautiful,she is incredible.Made our stay everything we imagined and more!

This is the most beautiful place I have every stayed. Everything was carefully thought off. beach towels provided, warm fresh pancakes on arrival, tea coffee and all kitchen facilities available. we even had our own full size fridge.

Best view of Dubrovnik and amazing host

Fantastic and best view of Dubrovnik, I will never forget it. Ana is an amazing host, she's always looking after all her guests and offering good tips on places to visit or where to eat. Sveti Jacov beach is directly downstairs the apartment with a beach bar and restaurant. We really had everything we needed in one place to relax and soak up the sun. Ana also provided us with beach towels and umbrella. The apartment has a communal kitchen fully equipped so you can have your breakfast and even cook your own meals. Definitely recommend this place!!

The view was spectacular! The balcony looked over the Adriatic and the old city of Dubrovnik. The beach and small restaurant was directly below us! The place has a nice kitchen with everything you need

Best host and view of Dubrovnik!

The best view in Dubrovnik! I was warmly welcomed by Anna, the owner, and she greeted me at my car and facilitated parking (people who know how hard parking is in Dubrovnik will appreciate this, as parking is exceptionally difficult in this city in August!).Anna, was also very responsive to text and so helpful - you can tell she was genuinely interested in helping - she really wants you to feel at home which was so appreciated! Thank you Anna! The view of my room was spectacular, the room itself charming and bed super comfortable. I wished I stayed longer! Next time!

Let's not use the word 'didn't like' for this section. This is just so you know. Parking is very difficult in the area and can be very expensive and you need to feel comfortable with small streets while driving in this area. Also, you should know there are a lot of stairs to get to your room - but that is also why your view is so spectacular! You need to like to walk, as driving in the area is no easy as mentioned. So put on your comfortable shoes and enjoy the view while you walk.

Ana was a great host, the location and apartment was quiet and relaxing.

Location was great, slightly out of the way from the Old City, but I appreciated that because it was quiet and relaxing. Ana was a great host and always responded quickly. Also the beach underneath the property was a great way to relax after a long day of walking.

No major complaints, but be aware if you are booking for a longer stay there is no washing machine in the apartment or building.

Our stay was incredible, my expectations were more than exceeded!

Guest House Carevic was simply perfect. We LOVED the view from the apartment, the apartment was a perfect size, fully equiped, not a thing missing. Ana is just lovely, she made us feel right at home the whole time, was very helpful with tips and ideas on things to do nearby. Absolute gem! I cant recommend Guest House Carevic more highly.

Ana is an absolute star, she organised airport transfer and was waiting at the entrance on our arrival with delicious home made crepes. She is a very informative and knowledgeable lady who gives excellent recommendations on places to eat and visit in the area as well as advising on areas in terms of beauty and history, avoiding tourist traps at all cost! The studio was just what we needed, with views to die for! 20 minute walk to Old Town albeit in hot, humid conditions but worth every minute of the walk, just for the scenery!

It was the best decision made with the guest house, very worth it!

the view from the balcony is AMAZING! the balcony is spacious with a table and chairs, the view of the sunset is breathtaking. The room was super clean and had all the necessary things we needed for our stay. The host even gave us beach towels. The shared kitchen was always clean and had all the kitchen utensils and our own fridge. Ana, the host, had delicious pancakes waiting for us when we arrived and then surprised us with cake before our checkout. The area is wonderful, 2 min stairs walk down to the beach. The area was quiet and safe at night, very nice to walk from the Old town. We walked to the old town 20 min, or took taxi approx. 7-10 min. Very satisfied with everything.

We loved the location looking across the bay to the old UNESCO world heritage site of Dubrovnik, the views are magical. Access to the beach is down steps directly outside the front door. There is access to a well equipped kitchen. Beach mats, sun umbrella and beach towels are all supplied. Ana is the perfect host, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Fabulous stay!

We stayed at this place for two weeks, and really enjoyed the room with a fantastic view from the balcony. The Old Town is 15-20 mins walk and St. Jakob beach just down below the apartment. Ana is an amazing host. Highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic, couldn’t recommend it more!

We stayed here for four nights and it was amazing! Ana is so lovely and helpful and makes you feel so at home. The room itself was comfortable and clean and the balcony was incredible, with breathtaking views. We originally booked the place primarily for the views, but these turned out to be even better than pictured online (photo of one of the sunsets attached). As well as this, the beach is right below (2 minute walk straight downstairs) and has to be the nicest beach in Dubrovnik—much less crowded than the other beaches and with a view of the old town and the surrounding mountains (photo also below). A lovely touch by Ana was providing us with beach towels, mats to lie on and a beach umbrella free of charge to bring with us—they charge €10 a day for the umbrella alone at the beach so that can contribute to significant savings. As well as this, the kitchen is well equipped with anything you’d need to cook and tea/coffee/etc. The walk into town is a leisurely 20/25 minutes with lovely views along the way or a €4 Uber if you’re feeling lazy/tired. Really couldn’t recommend the place more—thank you Ana and family!!

This place is just perfect☀️ if I could give more than 10 points, I would do🙃 Wake up in the morning and enjoy your breakfast at the balcony, with the beautiful view to the ocean and old city, the sound of the waves and birds. You can use the kitchen, it has everything you need. The beach is right in front of the appartment, you can swim or just relax. To old Town it's a 20 minute walk or you go by uber. Thank you, Ana you are such a nice host, your place is like a warm hug. I had a wonderful time here and would defenetly came back!
