Stay felt safe.

The quietness was top-notch. Felt safe. Easy access to the shopping mall and train station.🥰

There was no microwave to heat up your food. The coffee machine was a no-no. The sitting area by the TV was not very comfy, and neither was the bed. But the rest was okay. ✨️

Great location

Great location one minute walk from train. Supermarkets, pharmacy and cafes all next door. Even a cinema and shopping malls all within 2 min walk. Staff very friendly and laundry on site which was very handy.

Bedding pretty budget. No top sheet. Blind in room didn't come all the way down and street lights came in window.

Position and layout of apartment. Very clean and well appointed. Could watch to from sofa and in bed as it turns.

Microwave would have been useful. Washing machine used tokens from reception that was closed Saturday and Sunday. Arrived on Friday and read the info too late to gain use of washer. Maybe should add brackets saying not in apartment when listing washing machine/dryer.

Enjoyable, clean and very conveniently located.

Location was ideal for transport access (very easy and quick by train into Utrecht) and right in the centre of the delightful town of Houten, away from other tourists, which has plenty of good restaurants, shops and supermarkets right on the doorstep. It was very easy to hire bicycles from the hotel and cycle around Houten (even into Utrecht). The room was comfortable and well soundproofed.

Unfortunately the bed was a little small and the hotel restaurant and bar have been closed, presumably due to lack of demand. Nonetheless there were plenty of alternative places to eat and drink in the town

Everything is perfect. Good location. Friendly host. Our room is very quiet and cosy with the fully equipped kitchen. There are 2 supermarkets nearby so you can get anything fresh there.

The bed was simply too small for 2 people. In addition, we had the room right next to the train station, so there was a lot of noise until late in the evening.

One of the worst living experiences in 20 years

The place was clean and easy to find. Located in the town centre and really close to the main shops. It has a great room decoration and places to store things.

These were all due to the information on the website was not sufficient for us to make a good decision. When we planned to stay in Houten, the information from the hotel only showed ‘near to the train station’. However, nightmares started in the evening the first night we stayed. We lived in 302, when we arrived, there was no one at reception and finally, I met the manager but I was treated like an intruder. (The first sentence was 'who are you?' and not welcome.) Later on, they only mentioned the hob but did not say anything about the room. Nightmare 1: In the kitchen, there is no cooking oil, kitchen paper towel, dishwashing liquid, salt and pepper, ketchup, tea bags, essential stuff etc. we bought it all on top of the bill, over €15-20. Only one tea bag was provided and we booked a room for two! (This cost more than we stay on 9 mins train away from Amsterdam and the room was even bigger.) Nightmare 2: Shower room with no shower curtain. We have to be very careful in order not to spill the water everywhere. This made the shower not enjoyable. After showering every time, we have to scrap the water into the drain to make it dry and this can be simply resolved by having a shower curtain. Nightmare 3: The room, 302, was right next to the train platform and there was no soundproofing about 5-10 meters away. We can hear the trains passing by every 10-15 mins and even throughout the night with double glassing window and door. Sometimes, it came with strong vibrations. It made me really hard to get to sleep. As result, I can not sleep and did not feel rested at all. These conditions could have been mentioned when we booked or when we arrived. The manager said no one ever complained so they did not know. They only can say ‘because they can not change location, there was nothing else they can do.’ Very disappointed!

locatie vlak bij station Houten zonder hinder van de trein

de 2e pas werkte niet en die hadden we juist nodig. Zaterdag aangekomen en maandag kon het worden verholpen. De sleutelkluisje is bij veel accommodaties een trend. Het menselijk contact wordt steeds minder helaas.
