I do strongly recommend, but take earplugs for the night :)

The living room is large and well decorated, it is a cozy space. The owners/hosts are very kind and proactive; it was very easy to collect the keys. There are plenty of products and amenities in the kitchen and it was perfectly clean. The location is absolutely perfect if you want to visit Utrecht.

The street is very noisy, it is crucial to have earplugs. The flat is located directly above a clothes' store, which is fine but only half of the flat (kitchen and living room) closes with a key (in addition to the front door of the shop on the street). There is no key to lock the second floor (rooms and bathroom) from the shop which means that when the store is open, there isn't really any protection for your belongings.

In a nice neighborhood that’s got everything you need and great vibe. Groceries, cafes, restaurants right on your doorstep. We didn’t like the property itself

The smell of cheese is overwhelming and nauseating! Holes in sheets Huge dip in couch bed No dishwasher Many of the light bulbs don’t work and it’s dark inside, all bulbs that do work are different giving it a rundown feel Shower very hot and cramped, you bang your head all the time Old and run down feel Only one key and front door needs to be locked from inside each time No lock on bathroom door Noisy street! Affected our sleep. Bed in little space (landing) which is a walk through to other bedroom and the bathroom and is under steep roof. Plugs in sink and plugs in kitchen don’t fit Not very clean, lots of dust Dirty covers over dining chairs Doors so low you have to bend

Great stay at Utrecht

Ton, the host, was very organised and communicated the ins and outs to us well in advance. Location was superb! Very close to the train station (one or two stops away from central) surrounded by plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Definitely a recommended place to stay when you are in Utrecht!

Cozy and authentic place

The house was built in the 17th century and is s very authentic to the surroundings. Despite if it’s age it is quite comfortable and warm. Location is nice: about 15 minutes by feet to the Dom Tower. A supermarket working till 10pm, souvenir, cheese shops and even a cat caffe are only several meters away.

As the house is located on one of the central streets of the old city and there windows are original, it is sometimes a little bit noisy because of the tourists outside.

A gem of an apartment in Utrecht

Location was an easy 15 minute, very safe walk from the centre of Utrecht, following the canal with shops and bars along the way. Number 2 bus from the corner of the road into Utrecht Central Station for anyone that doesn't want to walk it (€2.90.one way). The apartment was really comfortable and the photos almost don't do it justice as the sleeping space is bigger than it looks. Double bed and a single in a large room upstairs (or single on the landing if preferred) , together with a sofa bed in the lounge. The hosts left the fridge full of a wonderful selection of foods and juice for breakfast, as well as fruit and bread. That lasted us for 3 days of breakfasts and still we didn't get through it all. Bakers and supermarket almost opposite and cheese shop next door. There's literally nothing that's not on the doorstep. Utrecht is full of buzzing pavement cafes/bars/restaurants and a huge selection of independent shops/boutiques aswell as a fabulous modern shopping mall. There were also market stalls on the Saturday we were there. Will definitely be back to La Perle before long.

The height of the shower area is slightly restrictive but would in no way stop us from visiting again. People with mobility issues might struggle getting in and out the shower/bath without handle rails. As forewarned by the tenant, the smell of cheese from the the adjoinimg shop can't be ignored in the stairwell but doesn't carry into the living accommodation.

Superb

Well situated, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Excellent breakfast provided. Friendly and helpful staff, ensured we had everything we needed. Well furnished and maintained. Would stay again if returned to the area.

Unfortunately while location excellent it was very noisy with people shouting passing the apartment throughout the night. Very hot but air conditioning unit and fan did cool a little bit weather was extreme. Hadn't realised whilst above the shop the entry and exit was through the shop and felt a little vulnerable when being watched entering in the evening from across the street.

A very nice, cosy appartment. We most certainly will go back there.

Breakfast was very well provided: enough fruit, cheese (goat and normal cheese), yoghurt, ... Too much for the pair of us.

Being close to the restaurants is an advantage but also a disadvantage concerning the noise in the evening.

It was stated in the description, but nevertheless a bit challenging in reality to only be able to pick up the keys in person between 1100 en 1700 when traveling from abroad.

Erg fijn

Het is rustig 's nachts in de buurt ondanks dat het wel echt in de stad is. Erg fijn dat er meerdere supermarkten en restaurantjes in de buurt zijn. Eigenlijk alles is wel op loopafstand!

Wel jammer dat er nergens een rookruimte was in het appartement/balkon, maar dat was makkelijk opgelost door gewoon even beneden naar buiten te gaan.

Das Wohnzimmer ist liebevoll eingerichtet, bequeme Betten, auch das Sofabett ist super.Sehr gute Ausstattung, auch in der Küche, sehr viel Tee und Kaffeekapseln vorhanden und ein sehr nettes Willkommenspaket. Eine sehr besondere Wohnung, da der Eingang durch das Modegeschäft geht.Wir fanden die Wohnung sehr gemütlich und konnten bei dem zeitweise schlechten Wetter zu fünft am Esstisch wunderbar Karten spielen. Der Eigentümer ist sehr freundlich.

Das Duschen in der Badewanne ist nicht so komfortabel, aber es geht für 2 Nächte

Top! Perfect voor een weekendje weg met een klein gezelschap.

De knusse sfeer die er hangt is top! Alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig in de accommodatie. De slaapbank ligt ook top, minstens zo comfortabel als een 'normaal' bed.

Sehr geschmackvoll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Gute Ausstattung (inclusive Kaffee, Tee, Wein und Schokolade zur Begrüßung) funktioniert alles super. Sehr sauber, gute Betten. Mitten in der Stadt in einem typischen Haus über einer Boutique. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Gastgeber. Alles was man braucht fussläufig zu erreichen.

Heel goed gelegen, gezellig appartement!

Heel goed gelegen: - ligt binnen de stadsgracht, - parkeertoren op 7 min wandelen, - pleintje met tal van eetgelegenheden tussen parkeertoren en appartement, - ligt aan het begin van een winkelstraat, geen cafés direct in de buurt, dus rustig, - supermarkt Jumbo ligt gewoon aan de overkant van de straat, 100m verder Vlaamsch Broodhuys, 300m verder vind je een Albert Heijn en een Geldmaat, - een degelijk tweepersoonsbed boven en een goede slaapbank in de living.

- Door de enkele beglazing komt er wat nachtlawaai binnen wanneer feestvierders richting parking trekken. - De kaasgeur van de naburige kaaswinkel geeft geur af in de overloop, dus hou de deur van het 1e en 2e verdiep altijd dicht. - De dakhelling in de badkamer noopt tot voorzichtiger bewegen voor mensen van +1,85m. Samengevat: eigenlijk niets dat onoverkomelijk is.
