Briggate Hotel

Great city centre location, clean and friendly staff. Good facilities. Parking near (very expensive though)

While the hotel is very central, it’s right above a night club which was open until 5am. VERY noisy! Bin men came just after the night club closed, more noise. The room was incredibly hot, even with the window open, no fan. Difficult to get ready as the only mirror was either in the space saving bathroom or around the corner by the door which was really dark. Could have made better use of the wall by having the long mirror by the window, not the door. The view from our window looked into a back street, which was obviously a favourite with homeless, one I observed injecting (what I can only guess) into his groin.

the location and our particular room had a terrace directly overlooking lower briggate, we had intended to go out drinking for the evening, but sitting out on the terrace with all the windows open it really did feel like we were in the middle of the night out without leaving the room. the room was well presented and felt really quite opulent and way above the quality expected from the price paid

the only issue was the downside to the positives previously mentioned, if you were intending to get a good night's sleep, forget it, lol, but if you're after a good night's sleep then its clearly the wrong place.

Hotel is very quirky, the balcony was great and Viaduct bar downstairs sounded like a blast in the afternoon when we were checking in.

The beds were pretty uncomfortable and there were no glasses for drinking water. The noise from Viaduct into the early hours but you have to expect that from a city centre hotel, and they did provide earplugs! Didn't bother us too much.

I’ve been before and really enjoy the location and the rooms are generally quite nice

It was 25 degree heat and the room was like a greenhouse, I tried to get in contact but the phone was put down on me so I then had to go and buy a fan just so I could sleep. I also had people trying my door multiple times. The cleaners then trying to get in at 10 even though I’d booked a late checkout. Also having no plug sockets next to the bed was a bit inconvenient.
