Beautiful and cosy winter stay

A stunning location under Skiddaw. The house was very warm and comfortable despite freezing conditions outside. Fantastic walking from the door, with the open land to the back of the house giving great options off established paths. A memorable experience in a beautiful part of Cumbria.

Blissful

The location was so romantic. From the road, you drive down a single track Farm driveway, opening and closing gates for the car on your way, to keep the sheep from wandering between fields. If narrow roads put you off, maybe it isn't for you though!

Only the wi-fi, which didn't reach across the property well. Also note that you may not get a standard mobile signal, although of course this is nothing which the host can do anything about.

A quiet place to relax in the northern Lake District

Fantastic view of Lake District hill and waterfall. The house is the only one in the valley on the northern side of Skiddaw and is very quiet with no traffic noise. A wild flower meadow immediately in front of it is full of insects.and is used by a hare. Well equipped kitchen and enormous bath. It is an old building which is full of character.

Amazing views - quiet farmhouse stay

Absolutely amazing views. Quiet farmhouse stay in beautiful surroundings. Kids loved the sheep and chickens. Nice walk to the waterfall.

Frying pan and other utensils should be changed. Cleaning could be better but otherwise all was perfect!

Fabulously remote and very comfortable farmhouse with views you’ll never forget.

This was our third visit to the Dash Farmhouse, we visited twice in 2014 and have wanted to return ever since. We finally made it back for a five night stay last week. The farmhouse is exceptional in every way, the cosiness, the comfy beds and sitting areas, the old farmhouse style kitchen, the underfloor heating but it’s the views and the location that are just simply wow. The owners have created something truly special at the Dash, once you’ve been you’ll never forget it. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone especially those who need a place that provides complete peace and solitude.

Couple more wine glasses would have been nice and an extra tea towel but who cares about that really.

You need to experience The Dash to appreciate its splendour

What a unique, quirky and charming place to spend a couple of days with a group of old friends. The house was so clean and beautifully presented brimming with character. It was so cosy with the underfloor heating, two shower rooms, huge bath and fully equipped kitchen. The views were beautiful and included chickens, lambs and sheep free of charge.

The range top was hard to navigate as there were no numbers on the dial but I figured out the bottom left was medium heat

What a beautiful homely farmhouse. Wowed us from beginning to the end of our 5 night stay. Ideal location for ramblers or those seeking peace and quiet with stunning views and sunsets. Caring host and hostess and loved the friendly chucks. Will definitely be returning there.

the road is extremely bumpy far worse than it was. think it needs levelling a little. or advise to use 4x4 car etc. I have an Audi and it scraped along the ground a lot. nothing else is bad at all. just be mindful with your car!

Incredible location, spacious, authentic and unpretentious. A real gem.

The kitchen and appliances needed a thorough deep clean and tidy-up of all pots, pans, tiling and a jolly good clear out of junk and broken pans behind the curtains. A washable turtle mat for in front of the Aga would be better than an old thick dirty rug. Foam toppers on beds just felt a bit odd. But really the kitchen frustrated me. I don’t want to wash up greasy pans from previous guests.

I liked everything. It was amazing. The house was clean, warm and fully equipped. Really comfortable. An amazing place with beautiful views. Peace and quiet. There you can really relax. And while sitting in front of the house you can watch the sunset.

If you like being isolated this is the right place for you!! Amazing!!

The house is in a huge field ,away from others. You wake up in morning and a sheep is in your garden eating grass. Look outside and see chickens, hens, cows , a true experience of life in a farm!! The house is huge and renovated beautifully with vintage furniture's. They still have video player!!! and dvd player !!! feels like you are back in time in a good way :). Kitchen is well equipped!. I loved that we had a dryer!!

The roads to the house is very narrow, do not arrive at night time!!!
