one of the best places to stay on the Scottish 500

Great location overlooking the bay. We watched a seal feeding one early evening. Friendly family restaurant down the road if a tad pricey.

Mary’s friendly face being there to welcome us after quite a long day. And we enjoyed self catering so we could get washing done, so that we could completely relax, prepare our own meals. A change from b&bs.

A perfect place to stay.

It was in a beautiful location, well-equipped with all your needs for a stay (including a dishwasher!). Very comfortable with a bathroom for each bedroom. The home made shortbread was delicious! Sky was included - so all bases were covered if the weather was poor. The hosts were lovely. The photos really don’t do it justice.

The only improvement I could think of would be a towel rail in the bathrooms.

Fabulous place to relax

It was a gorgeous place, Mary & Mark were exceptional hosts. It was nice to stroll around the harbour area. The “house” was beautifully furnished & had everything we needed.

We were taken care of very hospitable owners. The house is lovely, spacious, clean. Rooms have big comfortable beds. Showers in the bathrooms. Kitchen allows to cook and share a family meal together. Self catering. Cosy living room. Lovely area for walks. Two restuarants nearby: Delilah's and Peet''s. Both served tasty dinners for us. Highly recommended accommodation and town.

A lovely and convenient place to stay - The cottage quickly warmed up in the evenings bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean and well maintained. We particularly enjoyed the living room space in the evenings to relax in and the kitchen had all the ammenities you would need.

Top location

Lochinver was one of our stops on the NC500 and we stayed at Hillside for 3 nights. It seems previous guests have stayed in just one room but shared the kitchen/dining/living space. This wasn’t offered as an option - we had the whole house. I guess this made it more expensive and a bit OTT as there were only 2 of us, but it worked well. It’s a great house (very clean, comfortable, good WiFi) and Lochinver is the perfect base. Lovely hosts too.
