Such an alluring place to stay in

The view was stunning. The red deer in the garden was a pleasant surprise. The cookies and tea delicious. The pty and garden were well kept. The extras such as spices, tea, cling film, aluminium foil, washing detergent for clothes n dishes were very much appreciated.

The midges when we had to open bathroom window....we were bitten in bed! Please consider putting up a netting across the small window to prevent them from coming in. No wifi was a bummer...but we managed. had to buy add ons for phone data.

A wonderful view and location!

Fantastic location overlooking Lochinver Harbour and many of the iconic Sutherland mountaintops. The garden was beautiful and had an excellent sunroom overlooking the views.

We did struggle with the lack of signal from our phones, however we could usually pick up messages at the top of the garden.

Highly recommend this place. Perfect location, reasonably priced, highland stoneware and the views!

The cottage was wonderful. The conservatory in particular is amazing, with views out across the harbour and views towards Suilven, Cul Mor etc. The garden is also great. Particularly nice touch is the Highland Stoneware stocks, was a proper treat to use the lovely crockery.

Welcome tea tray set out with two different teas and Scottish shortbread, pint of milk in the fridge and a welcome postcard from Stuart our host. Beautiful garden with red deer visiting frequently. Comfy beds, super clean, good bathroom and kitchen, everything there that we needed. Beautiful quaint little cottage situated a short walk from Lochinver village and lots of good walks on the doorstep. Friendly visit from Stuart who told us all about the cottage's history and about the local area, very friendly and knowledgeable. Peace and quiet was the best!

The perfect cottage with a stunning view

The cottage was very cosy, well furnished with numerous comfy chairs and cushions and lamps, artwork and ceramics from local artists and equipped with everything we could need. The view from the conservatory is absolutely stunning you needn’t go out at all! It looks Lochinver and the mountains beyond. The garden is a piece of the moors with boulders, ferns and heather with stepping stones taking you over a little stream and another beautiful seating area.

Beautiful little house in amazing setting, a real escape!

Tigh-na-Mara is a wonderful little house set in generous and beautiful gardens with top views over the loch towards Lochinver and south including a fine view of majestic Suilven. The village is a five minute walk with local Spar, butchers/grocers, garage, gift shops etc. plus some nice food options. Owner Stuart was very helpful and welcoming and the place felt like a great retreat from busy normality.

We loved the place and for us there were no drawbacks. Whilst there is good 4G signal on 3, Vodaphone was moderate 3G signal and other networks unknown so the lack of WiFi may be an issue for some.

The Location was perfect and scenery and walks fabulous. Then back home to Tigh-na-Mara which was lovely and cosy with all facilities required for a great holiday.

Cosy Highland nest!

The most comfortable and cosy place we have ever stayed at. The only holiday where you don't care if the weather is bad, as it is so nice relaxing in the cottage, either in sunroom staring at the garden, harbour or mountains, or lazing in lounge on comfy recliners.. perfect with a cuppa and some local cake! Everything is clean and comfortable and all the facilities you need. Location is exceptional, and very easy to walk for groceries, food, drinks etc. We have already booked to return!

Really hard to pick any faults... Only slight negative was finding it hard to dry clothes after rainy days.
