Maritsa River Apartment

Excellent location! Apt is located right next to the pedestrian bridge leading to old Plovdiv. The apt was clean and the kitchen was stocked with all the necessities (dishes, cups etc). The owner was present to hand us the keys and provide explanations. The A/C was appreciated in the especially hot weather! There is one free parking spot on the street provided you arrive at the opportune moment.

Some people may be put off by the fact that its an old building and that the apt is furnished (tastefully) with artifacts of a bygone era.

This is a historic building just over the river in Plovdiv! It has charm and everything you need! Even fresh coffee beans! It’s a short walk over the pedestrian bridge into town so the perfect location! Great terrace outside to relax after a big day exploring!

The façade of the building looks derelict and needs restoration, but the interior of the apartment is very charming, with a tasteful collecion of vintage furniture and items like antique clock, hi-fi, typewriter and a playable harmonium well maintained. It feels like I am time travelling to a home in the past. It is away from the touristy old town, but yet it's very easy to walk across the foot bridge to explore the city. Street parking is hard to find here, but the owner helped me to drive around to find a good parking spot.

It seems it's very common that shower and toilet share the same space without any curtain or glass door in Bulgaria, as it's the third place I find is like this, but the owner has provided mop to dry the floor.

Proximity to city centre. Loved the rustic feel of the apartment. Basically had all I needed. Will definitely stay again when I visit.

I only wished the AC worked effectively or a fan was provided.
