Great place to stay for exploring Durham without being in the centre

Great apartment!

Great apartment in a perfect location to get into the City of Durham. The place was comfortable and clean. The kitchen had been stocked with the basics which was great after a long journey. The owners were very friendly and kind. Would highly recommend!

A very comfortable apartment with everything we wanted, attention to detail and thoughtful extras.

Met by friendly, helpful host, with local information. Lovely outside garden accessible direct from main bedroom. Bottle of wine, milk, tea and coffee, jam, bread, small treats, all provided. Everything worked well.

Lovely comfortable stay

Amazing stay, everything we needed plus some lovely extras. Hosts were brilliant giving lots of information. Clean, tidy, lovely apartment we have absolutely no complaints. Thankyou so much. We’ll hopefully be back in summer

Spectacular accommodation

This is the second time we've stayed at this accommodation during our trip to Durham, and I can confidently say it's excellent. Everything is well-maintained, clean, and top-notch. The hosts, Giles and Louise, are amazing – we highly recommend it!

Great property, modern spacious and clean. Giles, the owner greeted us we found him to be warm friendly and extremely enthusiastic. Facilities mostly new and the 2 showers were knockout. Overall great place.

The apartament is amazing, clean, tiddy and well mantained. Very close to Durham city center in a paceful Village.The comunication with the owner was perfect. Definitely for our next trip to Durham we are going to book this apartment!

Excellent hosts, property very clean and comfortable excellent location

Oven was very slow and didn’t work too well for cooking a meal. Did chat to hosts and hopefully they can replace. Heating was either too hot or too cold but hosts aware so hopefully will sort.

Fantastic little apartment!

Really friendly hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We asked if there was anywhere to store our bikes safely while we went out for the day, no problem was the answer! When we arrived at 10.30 we were allowed to check in as well as it was all ready for us. It was also my birthday and a little birthday cake appeared on the work top! Just small touches that make a big difference. Thank you Giles, Lou and Tom we had a lovely stay, looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Lovely stay, would happily return.

The property was well laid out, comfortable and very well equipped, with absolutely everything we needed including a cheese grater, tupperware and even tinfoil! The owners even left us some milk and a loaf of bread, which was very thoughtful. Great location - a short drive to both Beamish (about 15 mins) and Durham (10 mins).

Lovely apartment and ideal for small family. Close enough to Durham but quiet little village. Handy well stocked local shop. Cooking facilities were ideal and cosy space.

Not a dislike by any means but would of been good to of been able to access streaming services on TV such as Netflix etc. And having own washing machine would also be an advantage (although laundry service was available). The upstairs shower room could possibly be extended to have a loo to avoid kids or that having to come down stairs at night. Honestly no faults these just personal opinions

Couldn't have been better!

Perfect location for where we wished to visit, warm and comfortable, lovely host Maxine who greeted us on arrival, and much appreciated welcome pack. Enjoyed the little patio/garden. Park and ride brilliant for centre of Durham just five minutes from apartment. Don't forget to visit Hall Hill Farm.

A most enjoyable and pleasant stay at Bancroft Apartment!

Charming and well maintained property, an altogether better option than most hotels! The hosts are very cooperative and ensure that your stay is comfortable and seamless.

The water pressure in the showers could have been a bit higher and a basin mixer tap would have been more usable than the separate cold and hot water taps. It had all the necessary appliances other than a washing and drying machine.

Very clean. Nice touch leaving us bread, milk and various other things. Very friendly hosts next door. Off street private parking. Excellent pub 100m away.

Expensive compared to other holday cottages in area we have

Single beds were very soft. Only had summer weight duvets on and it was cold. Heating didnt come on until 8 am on the Sunday morning and we were up at 7 so house was very cold, We didnt seem to have any control of heating. Dust on bedroom cabinets and bedside lights and hair in shower.

We loved Everything, from the lovely smile and greeting to the wonderful apartment that we stayed in. The apartment is bigger than what we expected and Maxine has all these little touches that makes your stay enjoyable. A home away from home xxx

Awesome place to stay

The apartment was really nice with plenty of space. A very comfortable place to stay for a few days and close to Durham City centre only 10 mins on the bus. Bed was very comfy, sofas were too. WiFi worked well, all facilities excellent and as you'd need. Very clean and well maintained. Hosts were very friendly and helpful on arrival and left us to ourselves during the stay. Highly recommended and we'd stay again if we came to the area again.

We found the property by far exceeded our expectations. I can not fault anything about it down to comfort and location. The hosts were on hand if needed and couldn't have made us more welcome. Would definitely recommend and plan to return .

Comfortable cosy and child freindly

The host was lovely and catered to our needs. We travelled with three children 10 and 6 year old twins. There was milk, bread, jam and butter in the fridge on arrival - a big plus. All the equipment was of high quality so we cooked as well as ordered in. There is a very nice nature walk in the forest that is walking distance and easily accessible for families. Really kind host who understands the needs of young children. I recomend the location for a staycation and Durham Botanical Gardens if you like nature parks.
