Quiet with great views

We love this place! This is our second stay and we're likely to book again. Great hosts who think about absolutely everything and the accommodation is very considered too. It's clean, comfortable and cosy. And the extra special touches at Christmas are really appreciated.

Worth every penny.

Location couldn’t have been better. What would be nice would be a nice window in the living area overlooking the fields. Everything else fantastic. Nice to receive the eggs.

It was so comfortable. The cottage came with everything that we needed and more. We would quite happily moved in! Little touches like fresh eggs and milk left out for us was just so lovely. The owners were very kind and helpful. Exceptional hosts.

Just wonderful, a beautiful quiet welcoming stay.

It was all perfect, lovely location, very clean cottage. Everything you needed was there. The cottage was a lot bigger than I expected, plenty of room for all 6 of us. Loved all the extra stuff like games for the kids, books, DVDs and CDs. Everything has been though about. Was great to see all the sheep and lambs, horses and Farmer David to show my boys around the farm and see all the tractors. Was extra nice the easter egg hunt bucket left for my boys. Thank you so much for a brilliant stay.

A comfortable base for visiting family.

Brooksides Byre is a very comfortable converted cow shed. Set in open countryside north of Brancepeth Castle the Byre is warm with spacious rooms. Having two shower and WC rooms - the larger one also with a bath - is convenient. The kitchen is well equipped. The rooms have TVs with a selection of DVDs available. The information about the facilities and attractions of the area is really good.

WiFi can require resetting a lot during bad weather.

Great stay! there was everything that we needed.

3 large double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, extremely comfortable accommodation on the farm. The grandson enjoyed looking at the chickens and seeing Rupert the ram and the horses.

There wasn’t a spare cupboard to put our food in.

Relaxing getaway to the country

Our stay was fantastic! The house was spacious and had everything we could possibly need for our stay. We enjoyed walking the track around the farm and visiting with the hens.

This is a top quality property. Well laid out with spacious, comfortable rooms. Fully equipped, even to the extent of bathrobes. It is on a working farm, but you are not disturbed by this. The rural setting allows for various types of birds and even some young hares into the garden, which was charming.

Perfect location to visit Durham.

Superb location, away from traffic but easily accessible. Great views and opportunity to walk/cycle out from cottages. Cottage itself was thoughtfully and generously equipped, extremely comfortable. For us, it was perfect.

A beautiful, memorable holiday

Just heading back to London after a beautiful week at Cross Cottage on Little White Farm. Such a lovely cottage. Warm, cosy, stylish, super clean and comfortable. It had everything we could possibly need for our holiday. The beds, pillows, linens were all really comfortable and good quality as were the toiletries. David and Vicki live next door and were super helpful if needed - invisible if not. Peaceful but only 3 miles from Durham - there are supermarkets much closer. We visited Newcastle, Beamish, the Angel of the North, Durham Castle & Cathedral and took lovely walks in the surrounding open spaces. We couldn’t recommend a stay here enough.

Very relaxing with lovely countryside views. Ideal get away from it all break.

The locations was lovely. Very peaceful with sheep and lambs to the front of the cottage. We arrived early but Vicki came round to the cottage to let us in. The fresh eggs were a lovely touch.

gorgeous and comfortable holiday place

We were blown away by this place, the pictures don't do it justice. So well stocked with anything you need and quiet, beautiful surroundings. The owners were lovely and completely helpful. Outside there were newborn lambs! The trip in to Durham was quick and easy. We will stay here again!

Perfect setting and house for a family holiday

Clean, welcoming, generous bedrooms with high ceilings, plentiful hot water and underfloor heating, the living / dining / cooking space worked perfectly for our group of 5 including x 20+ adults, parents and a 95 yr old grandad. Recent conversion with wide doors and corridor. The owner responded promptly to any queries.

Beautiful cottage 🥰

Beautiful 3 bed cottage which is spacious, well equipped, ideal for families and disabled people. Perfect in every way possible for all the family with 2 walk in showers and a bath. Spacious living area where the owners have placed books, dvds, games a lovely touch 😊 and speaking of lovely touchs personal bath robes in the wardrobes and towels with the name of the farm very unique 😀. Lovely to return to once the area was explored 😍

On the outskirts but once you get your bearings you'll be fine 🙂
