Lovely viee from bedroom. Comfy bed and good facilities in the living room. Great pub across the road.

Great location. Clean & tidy. They even provide a dog bowl. Nice touch to leave us some biscuits, tea, coffee & fresh milk.

There was a dishwasher, which we didn't use, but no washing up liquid or hand towel for kitchen. The sofa was very low & way too soft. Could do with a sign on the outside gate / fence to indicate the entrance is to the side.

A hidden gem in a lovely village, ideal place to stay if visiting Beamish museum.

It was clean, dry, quiet, off road parking, easy access, quaint, and the pint of milk in the fridge for making tea upon arrival. The fridge was really good too.

Nice little cottage.

Tiny but well equipped. Lovely comfortable bed and great shower with plenty of pressure. Milk and biscuits provided were a nice touch. Excellent location for Durham. We drove and used the P&R service into the city.

This property is lovely it’s like being in your own home, the host was really nice after a long day working away it was the perfect place to relax, tea coffee sugar and milk was all at the property and the shower was amazing! Really clean and peaceful.

Lovely cottage for 3 in quiet rural setting within easy reach of Durham.

This cottage is in a lovely quiet village location just 15 minutes from Durham by car. It was very clean and well maintained, with comfortable beds. The host was easy to communicate with and checking in was easy. Milk in the fridge, coffee/tea and a pack of biscuits were a nice touch.

Lovely quiet location but easy access to local attractions. Pub nearby which was closed when we stayed but looked nice. Great take away in Brandon. Lovely walks for the dog from the door. Quality furniture and bedding. Booked again for 3 nights in August.

Everything! Lovely peaceful, comfortable cottage. Beds were lovely. Amazing views, see photo of view from the bedroom. Lots of lovely walks for dogs nearby! Easy reach of Durham. John was very helpful and kind, definitely recommend White House Cottages

Excellent host, friendly and extremely knowledgeable regarding places to visit and eat during our stay, we were very lucky with the weather and managed to get out and about every day.. Accommodation was clean and comfortable, and everything you could need was provided We were upgraded with our accommodation when we arrived.. and can not fault a single thing.. To top it all, a lovely pub opposite, walking distance, staff there so friendly and welcoming..

Lovely cottage, very clean and with all the facilities you might need within easy striking distance of Durham. The host was lovely and turned on the heating prior to our arrival. Great views over the farm next door. We were there only one night but the property would be excellent for a longer stay. Beds were very comfortable.

The downstairs shower didn’t drain properly but I’m sure that would be only a temporary thing. Don’t let it put you off!

Good points outnumber the one bad point.

Clean compact little cottage with everything you need. Good communication with host before arrival. Parking for one car .Location was good if you had a car . Local pub not open yet so when it does open I think it will be a positive. That’s not anything to do with the cottage but there was nothing really close by.

The bed was a small double bed and very very uncomfortable with uncomfortable pillows . I had no sleep for two nights . One night I tried to sleep on the settee but it’s a very small 2 seater.
