The Stables was a warm, comfortable and cosy apartment in a quiet, convenient location for our stay in Durham.

The cottage was in a fantastic location and always warm and cozy. The views were stunning and the village was almost silent at most hours of the day. Durham offered plenty of attractions and we would've stayed another day if we could have.
Admittedly, this gripe can't be helped, but it was nonetheless a gripe. The slanted ceilings made things slightly awkward. My girlfriend bumped her head at one point in the kitchen area. The coffee machine took a bit of figuring out and perhaps a kettle would've been a better option for dumb Luddites like me. The WiFi was slightly spotty, but the opportunity to unplug can be seen as a godsend. The bed sometimes got a tad too hot in the night, but it was nothing a quick fidget couldn't fix.
