Hidden gem of a place

Really lovely apartment. Right next to the pub which was great for a meal on our first evening. Apartment was very clean and well presented. Very dog friendly and some nice little touches like a water bowl and treat for our dog. The village was gorgeous and lovely for walks.

Great location - quiet but close to Durham, good local shops. Next to the pub, with excellent food available. Flat had everything we needed for a short break and seemed well equipped for dining in, but we ate in the pub both nights. Spotlessly clean. Friendly hosts run the pub too and all the staff there were lovely. Very relaxed place to stay.

Not a big deal for us, but the bathroom is accessed through the main bedroom, so may not be ideal for some.

Excellent place to stay when visiting Durham if you don’t want to be in the city centre

We used The Tree House as a base to when we visited Durham to drop off our daughter to university. It is very comfortable, well laid out. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

Friendly owner. milk provided in fridge on arrival, Flat was over the pub, own entrance to the flat. Kitchen facilities.

Noisey heater in the lounge, bathroom extract fan could do with a clean.

The property was very clean and had everything you would need at your disposal. The location was perfect in a lovely quiet village next to the Green Tree pub. The hosts were very friendly and helpful,I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Excellent accommodation & the hosts were so lovely and accommodating for last minute requirements

Excellent location. Very peaceful and quiet, which was surprising since it is beside the pub. The hosts were very accommodating and saved a table for us, even when we were running late due to traffic. The food was excellent, home cooked and certainly not lacking in any way. We were not disappointed at all and would certainly be back to stay here, as everyone was sooooo lovely. Thanks so much :)

The shower door rollers had corroded so had to be careful with the shower - however, we fed this back to the owner who thanked us for the feedback so that he could repair it. This was not a big problem to us and did not impact on our stay at all and would certainly stay here again.

Lovely stay .

We have stayed at the Tree House once before and wanted to stay again . It’s a lovely village and a good base for Durham and Newcastle etc . Lovely Pub as well .

Great, dog friendly apartment just a few minutes outside Durham

Lovely apartment above the Green Tree pub. Spacious, clean with everything needed. Great for having a dog, large village green and other country walks. Good food in the pub and also at a local Indian, Aruvi

Very quaint and perfect for a weekend in Durham

Good location, very quaint pub, apartment has been nicely restored. Very clean. Perfect for our short stay. Great to be able to have dog too. Pub was good too with great Sunday roast.

Nothing really as it met our needs for the weekend. Minor point - the main door to exit apartment was sticking and needs adjusting as it needed brute force to open.

Lovely comfortable 2 bedroom apartment with everything you need, great kitchen facilities, lovely sitting room and such friendly hosts.

My only very minor criticism was that the double bed was small.. definitely room for a large double or two twins you could push together - twins would also mean they could rent it to 3 friends. But this is a minor thing as I loved the apartment and will definitely book again

Wonderful. Excellent accommodation, helpful owner, good location.

Flat was immaculate. Comfortable furnishings. Owner on site, extremely helpful and friendly. Easy drive into Durham city. Lovely, quiet village. Asda store less than a mile away. Footpaths and a wood to walk the dog. Had a meal in the pub adjoining the flat. Food was good pub standard. Plenty of parking for the flat in the pub car park.

Everything about the accommodation was very good so no negatives to write. If you had mobility issues maybe not suitable as the flat was up a flight of stairs.

Great stay, easy access into Durham

Beautiful apartment, very clean and comfortable. The hosts were very responsive to any queries. We arrived late in the evening and were very grateful to find tea, coffee and milk left for us . Easy access into Durham using Uber or park and ride facility. I’m only sorry we didn’t have time to go into the pub below…it looked lovely!

Wonderfully quiet village location. Amenable hosts and extremely clean, nicely decorated apartment.

There was no real wifi available in the property and the only bathroom was an en-suite to the master bedroom which meant the second bedroom guest had to come through the master bedroom to use the bathroom, which wasn't ideal at night, but I may have missed that detail in the description when I booked.

Perfect base to tour the beauty of County Durham

Very spacious, incredibly clean, very private. A more than generous space to unwind in, a fully equipped kitchen. Bath and fabulously powerful shower. The owners were so friendly and helpful

Only thing for us was the inability to get fresh air into the bedroom and bathroom, but that’s a very minor point, not everyone will worry about it.

A great escape

This is a beautiful comfortable apartment in a fab location. Right beside the quaint pub and outstanding restaurant (with the best chips ever) and completely quiet at night. Friendly helpful host. Be aware there is no wifi as standard but host can allow access to their wifi. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Great apartment within a short drive of Durham City Centre!

This is a lovely, well equipped apartment within easy driving distance of Durham City Centre. It is attached to a great local pub serving traditional home cooked food, but with little to no noise carried into the apartment. The picturesque village of Tudhoe is also an excellent base for walking in the surrounding countryside. Murrie and her staff were all very helpful and great in their communications. We would definitely consider The Tree House again, for our next visit to Durham!

As others have pointed out, there is no internet in the property, and the mattress is soft. The bathroom is an ensuite off the main bedroom, which might be an issue if there was a group of adults travelling together. However these are minor points in an otherwise lovely apartment.

If you can cope with the bathroom and bedroom situation then this is a superb place to stay.

Property was extremely well presented in a village green setting. People were friendly and professional. The pub it is attached to was also a fantastic find from the food to the service ,totally faultless.

Booking.com did not make clear that the only toilet and bathroom was accessed by the double bedroom or that the single room was windowless. This caused problems and whilst we tolerated the situation it was far from ideal for an all adult, mixed sex group.

Lovely place to stay

Lovely and peaceful accomodation. Very clean and comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space and everything you need is in the apartment. Lovely hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Only 10-15 minutes drive into Durham town, supermarket is less than 5 minutes drive away. Plenty of parking on the pub car park. Definitely worth staying here if you are visiting the area.
