No 44 by Blue Skies Stays

Location was good close to the A1, comfortable beds

Uncomfortable sofa, dripping tap in kitchen, cigarette ends all over the garden area.

It comfortably slept our group of five adults and was big enough that we were not feeling on top of one another.

I personally found the mattress of the double bed uncomfortable, it was a bit too soft for me. My wife however found it comfortable.

We have stayed at the property twice, lovely quiet location, nice 3 floors comfortable for a few nights stay, close enough to Durham city, Sherburn, A1M. Has its own small garden, plenty of crockery, seating space. Nice little house. Bedding and towels really clean. 2 toilets in the property.Location as close to family we extended our first stay which we found very easy to do.

Such a shame on the first stay the house has not been cleaned properly cup marks , coffee soils, dirty bath and drawers on our first stay, horrible smell of weed ( previous renter) no problems other than this. I complained and sent pictures.On the second stay house smelt much fresher however bath and tiles were dirty pans in oven also the shower was broken and spraying water everywhere all over the floor and ceiling.This was a pain as right on christmas, there is no hoover or dryer in the property. Downstairs toilet door lock needs attention.Better pre checks needed as this is an easy fix if the shower was working and bath cleaned this would have been a 10. A hoover in the property would be a great asset when you have a dog to keep on top of the carpets. I understand you can have a clean booked during your stay which is a further cost good option if staying a week. We don’t allow our dog on furniture but some do.

Location

It is advertised as sleeping 5 yet there was only a two seater settee and one chair so how does that work? The blurb before we arrived said there was a sweeper and mop. There were neither. I called the office and told them and was assured they would be delivered. None arrived. The blurb also said there is tea and coffee. There were TWO teabags 2sachets of coffee and some sachets of sugar. No welcome pack of any kind. There was no washing up liquid, no spray to clean the surfaces and no bleach for the toilet. Oh there was ONE small washing up sponge! I do not expect to bring such items with me. Frankly for over £110 a night to not provide such basic items is nothing but money pinching. We rent such accommodation 3-4 times a year all over the country and more often than not you get a welcome pack with fruit potatoes we have even had a bottle of wine. I will NEVER book with these again!
