Casamata Matera

The view from the entrance/front door was amazing. And the proximity to the busy piazza full of cafes was lovely.

The furniture was not inviting (plastic chairs etc) and one of the bedrooms had no natural light or air. (I know it was a cave! But there must have been other ways to design it as a more inviting space.)

We absolutely loved our stay here! From the moment we arrived, everything felt easy and welcoming. Communication with the host was excellent, and Fabiana was so lovely and helpful with check-in. The apartment is in the heart of Matera’s historic centre, and the view from the private balcony is simply breathtaking. It was such a special place to relax and take in the beauty of Matera. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had all the modern amenities we needed. The unique cave-style bathroom really added to the experience, and the shower had excellent water pressure—a small detail we really appreciated! We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again. It’s a beautiful, special place that made our visit to Matera even more memorable. We highly recommend it!

We loved the cave experience.

Though a little thing like having some milk, olive oil salt n pepper would be nice when arriving as the location is work to get to. Even a tea towel to wipe up.

The location and very helpful directions to the property. We found it easy to find.

The space is large, however the bed was one of the worst we have stayed in. The pillows were flat, the beds pushed together with a poor mattress on the top. The sofa was like sitting on a concrete block. The TV did not work as there was no signal. The side lamp in the bed room did not work. Also, it was so dark! From the photos we thought we may have a bigger window / balcony…..but the only window was so tiny. It was cold inside. Really not what we were expecting for the money.
