The area and hotel are beautiful, but 4 days was too long a stay for such a quiet area.

We liked that parking was onsight since we were driving a rental car. We liked the view from the upstairs room onto the property and field with cows grazing. We liked the friendlyness of the owners and staff. The Chateau Villandry is right in the town. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful.

The building has been totally renovated to modern standards which sometimes can have a cold feeling and not very cozy. Our room was not swept or straightened for the days that we were there. We did not like the fact that it was hard to get meal nearby or at the hotel without spending more than $25 euros per person. We don't spend that much back home on a daily basis and since we were staying 4 nights it was not viable. The surrounding area is very quiet, VERY QUIET. There were no shops of interest nearby. Thank goodness there was a boulangerie nearby that opened very early when we set out every day for exploring. We chose this location as a base for exploring the Loire Valley, but would have preferred something with better eating choices and shopping and entertainment.

A nice building in a pleasant setting

The location, building & grounds were nice. the staff were helpful.

Although the 3-course supper was good at €25, we had not realised that there was no choice, which proved a problem for my pescatarian wife: the veggie options were unexciting. The room was fine, but not especially large or luxurious for the price.

A very special 2 nights in a friendly family hotel which was charming

The location was excellent to visit the Chateau Villandry. It was very quiet behind a large stone wall and very pleasant being able to sit outside for dinner and breakfast. We had a lovely room and large bathroom .it was all very clean and the bed was so comfortable we slept very well. Dinner was simple but good value The owner was charming and helped us when we got a nail in a tyre. The village of Villandry is very quaint and the Chateau magnificent.

A welcoming and helpful arrival from our host and a room overlooking the gardens and adjacent rural land, a quiet and serene scene. On site restaurant served a wonderful meal and breakfast, so very self contained. The rooms were well sized and serviced and met our expectations for comfort.We found our stay calm and restful.

The staff were so helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and well-furnished. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good and dinner was very nice. It was quiet and tranquil.

The shower wasn’t great. It was hard to keep the water in the tub while showering.

A superb hotel with wonderful staff

What a lovely hotel and what fantastic staff! This is a great place to stay if you going to Villandry or for a base if you are touring the area/region. The welcome was fabulous. The room was perfect with a lovely view across to the cattle in the fields. The hotel is also easy walking distance to the chateau at Villandry. Price wise it was excellent value. There is a lovely terrace and garden to sit out on and have a drink. We dined in the restaurant and had the excellent terroir menu - which was superb value. The owner Pascall and his staff are marvellous and super helpful. Parking is on site, free and very easy. We will definitely re-visit this hotel.

Geeat location for Villandry. Bike storage in grounds secure and under cover. Clean and modern hotel room. very comfortable bed and beautifully clean linen. Staff very welcoming and the dinner was simple but fresh and excellent use of local produce.

The location was great for visiting Chateau Villandry and the area generally. Rooms were very modern and very clean and tidy with comfortable beds. Some great traditional restaurants nearby which the hotel will happily book for you even though they do their own food. Eating out is recommended.

Fairytale hotel

Everything was perfect. Clean and modern rooms. Very good home made food. Garden and terrace were like a fairytale. Mr.Pascal, the manager, was the perfect host. Highly recommend this hotel for at least 2 nights!

A lovely hotel in most aspects

Our room for 2 people was in an attic space with a sloping ceiling .Very cramped . I looked at the website at the bedrooms and it showed LARGE bedrooms We were dissapointed to have such a small cramped room although it was very clean and comfortable
