Very nice location. The apartment didn’t measure up to the pictures online, but we got used to it.
Clear detailed instructions for how to enter property.
The door lock was kind of wobbly and we were a little uncertain, at first, if it was working right. Ultimately, it seemed VERY secure. Just difficult to operate.

Bologna is worth visiting. The location of our apartment was great.
Bologna is absolutely worth of visiting. The location of our apartment was great. Easy to walk everywhere, about 15 min walk to the center.
Unfortunatelly from the beginning everything was complicated. We had asked earlier information what is the amount of the city tax that we could have paid this beforehand and from where do we get the keys. I got answers to my questions when we were already at Bologna. We waited for answers at the airport, where I could finally among other things paid the city tax. When we got the keys and went to our apartment, we noticed that we had a totally wrong apartment! We had booked the largest room with two separate beds on the top floor with a terrace. We immediatelly reported about this mistake to the contact person of the landlord but also to Booking.com. Our apartment had been rented out and we would get it in two days’ time. We hadn’t other choice, so we had to stay in this small apartment two nights. There was only one bed and a sofa-bed, which was situated in the kitchen. The sofa was very soft, it was not comfortable to sleep in it. We were promised financial compensation for the two nights we had to stay in another room. But we will not receive any compensation for the inconvenience this caused us. In cutlery could be invested a little more. The water glasses were made of glass. But the wine glasses were made of plastic! And there were no champagne glasses in the apartment. Towels are made of thin cotton and there were only two of them. You can get more towels, but it costs extra. There could also be at least some basic supplies, such as salt, pepper and detergent. This was our adventure. We were ”lucky” to arrive in Bologna during the daytime. What then if our flight had arrived at night? We need to consider seriously whether we want or dare to continue renting an apartment through Booking.com in the future.

Wonderfil location in a lovely historic city
This is a lovely, well kept and very clean apartment, with everything one could need. We felt at home straight away. Communications were good and quick at all times. The apartment is very comfortable and on a lovely and important road, the via Santo Stefano. Walking into the old town along this road offers views of wonderful architecture, and towards the end of the road the very important Saint Stephens Basilica. If coming by train, the 11a, 11b or 11c buses go to and from close to the apartment, though check out how to purchase a 75-minute bus ticket for arrival, and another for departure. We were only here for 3 nights, and prefer bread for breakfast. There is a lovely bakery a few hundred yards up from the apartment, but it doesn’t open that early (9.00 on weekdays I think). Otherwise there is a cafe recommended by Stefano just across the road. I would highly recommend the walking tour of the old town which we booked through the ‘Get Your Guide’ site. If you don’t speak any Italian (I didn’t)….this site with 11 useful phrases is invaluable for getting started: https://youtu.be/7ruSYsCO5Uo?si=oDjjJAbGD-hXavV4

Great location close to the centre and lovely piazzas. Soundproofing could be improved significantly
It was a great location and had essentials.
The bed had a waterproof sheet underneath which is not very pleasant to sleep on. The noise from other apartments is bad. You can easily hear people walking talking and everything else.

Broken down shit hole
The location and checking in was relatively straightforward
Most of the facilities are in a dire need of repair. Washing machine had buttons coming off, the bath tub had holes where water leaked out, air conditioning was super loud so could not keep it on to sleep, a lot of traffic noise at night times. Lock on toilet did not work and a lot of cupboards couldn’t shut properly. Photos did not show the extent how run down the place is. We were willing to pay a premium thinking it would be a comfortable stay but instead felt like we were staying at a budget motel with everything barely working.

Living above the rooftops of Via Santo Stefano, we stepped straight into the world of The Broker
It’s not often you find yourself living inside a novel — but for a few days in Bologna, we did exactly that. Our apartment at No. 88 Via Santo Stefano, tucked under soft ochre walls and centuries-old porticoes, felt like it had been lifted straight from the pages of John Grisham’s The Broker. A mezzanine bedroom, a small balcony, and a view across clay-tiled rooftops gave the space a quiet, watchful feel — part safehouse, part sanctuary.
It was a little tricky storing our luggage
