Booking.com and Hotel messed up our New year celebrations

Friendly staff

The booking was done for 5 rooms and we only got 2. When asked about it we given only one option to have 2 rooms in Ibis and 3 rooms in nearby hotel, not with the same room config. We were there to celebrate new year together as a group and ended up celebrating in different hotels and this caused us inconvinience.

Everything! The rooms stank of drains, they gave us an unclean room that had been used the night before, which hadn’t been cleaned & expected us to stay in another persons filth! Including used toilet roll on the floor, dirty in the bed, cigarette ash in the sink and on the sides and floor! It was utterly ridiculous. I had more photos to upload but the max is 4. I describe this place as what I believe to be some kind of homeless hostel.

All I needed for stop-over.

Comfortable bed, helpful staff who alerted me to discount on evening meal at Novotel.

Hard to find; it would have been helpful to say it could be accessed via grounds of Novotel next door. Shower leaked out onto bedroom floor - otherwise OK.

Adequate but disappointing hotel.

The hotel was convenient due to its position near the motorway and the staff friendly.

Our main complaint is that we booked for three people but the third bed wasn't made. We arrived late in the evening with a sleepy child and had to make his bed ourselves. That's not acceptable even for a 2-star hotel.

No light in shower so had to leave door open and no door handle. Breakfast was not adequately laid out.

And inexpensive, low budget, bare-bones stay

It was cheap and close enough to Paris that we could drive into Versailles the next morning and avoid $600 hotels in Paris

I got concerned when the room across the hall from ours had a police evidence seal on the door. Also, it was a little difficult to find next to the abandoned nightclub next-door

the door lock was bad, I was unable to lock my room, so I had to bring my stuff always. I had to take the room because it was 23.00 in the night. How can I ask for a rebate? I paid for an open room
