a little complex and long ( painful?...) just to extend the stay from one night booked by "booking.com" with a second night booked in direct ; same for my sister who booked in direct and had to substitute a nigh cancelled by a night in advance!...

Adequate.
Convenient overnight stop over with secure gated parking outside motel type accommodation but you need the gate code to get to the reception to check in in the first pl ace. Luckily a resident was behind us to assist. The staff were friendly.
The room had minimum soundproofing. The shower was broken and there wasn't an evening restaurant.

The manager was extremely welcoming with fantastic English. We easily changed to a ground floor room, so that we could keep our bikes with us. Good shower and comfy beds, kettle to make tea/coffee
When we arrived we were greeted by a big locked gate and building works, therefore we thought the hotel was closed for the season. After a 65 mile cycle, we were not impressed. Thankfully the manager came out and we caught his attention to get us checked in. The restaurant wasn't open and being a Sunday, we had to head to the main road with limited choice for dinner.
