A simple, wonderful base for exploring Dorf Tirol and the mountains

We stayed here for a week to do more hiking above Dorf Tirol after staying there last summer and loving it. The rooms in the upper floor have great views, the family that runs it is welcoming and full of helpful tips, a nice, cozy atmosphere in the little breakfast room - a fun mix of people, mostly German guests while we were there. The access to the amazingly scenic pool ten minutes away (with a bar), quick access to the Hochmut lift to quickly get up to the mountains, and the pretty walk or regular buses down to Meran... for our needs, it was really perfect. There are great places to eat nearby (the pizza place at the town's central bus station, the brewery across from the castle...) and a little fast food place down the street if you just want a currywurst and fries after coming down from the mountain.

There is liquid body soap in the shower, but we ended up bringing our own bar soap for convenience when washing hands this time. It's a simple pension, so if you need a hairdryer, you should have one with you (maybe if you asked the hosts would have one?) . There is a little Spar supermarket up the hill - halfway to the Hochmut lift? - if you need to stock up on anything. These aren't things we disliked - the minimalism fits with the vibe - but good to keep in mind as you're packing. In the months ahead of our trip we were already looking forward to sitting on the balcony, looking up at the mountains, and then it was even nicer than we remembered. Highly recommend.

Unbelievable value

Free to use swimming pool and free public transport passes were both an amazing suprise. Breakfast was good for the price. Amazing balcony, stayed in a single room which was reasonably cosy but still great value for the cost, but the balcony and view was unbelievable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The only thing I could think that wasn't amazing, was on the day of checkout one of the room cleaners came through the door at 8am and woke me up. But that's minor compared to how amazing this place was

Nice, reasonably priced place at an honest value (2-star hotel: no frills, but those are well delivered).

Be sure to opt for a room off Via Pricipale. If you like open windows for fresh air at night, you'll get the street noise for free.

Lovely guesthouse in a lively village. Huge balcony (shared with another room). Delicious breakfast. Absolutely value for money. Merano card gives you free local transport and access to museums and charming public pool just down the road. Stay here! Many thanks to the family running this delightful place.

A very friendly classical Garni pension in Sud Tirol. Great breakfast with perfectly done softboiled eggs, rotating slices of meat, including the famed Sudtiroler Speck (bacon). Great advice, helpful. Near the promenade walk to the village historical centre. Recommended.

Friendly owner who received us with a very warm welcome. Small but convenient room with nice balkony. Cold drinks available for reasonable prices via fridge in the entrance hall. Great breakfast with awesome (and great selection/variety of) bread and 8 different home-made jams. Highly recommended.

Nette Unterkunft mit gutem Frühstück.

Wir waren für eine Nacht dort und es war mehr als ausreichend. Genügend Platz, Teppichboden und sauber. Super nettes Personal! Lage zentral, gut erreichbar und Parkplatz direkt auf dem Gelände.

Delizioso hotel a conduzione familiare la coppia che lo gestisce è disponibilissima e molto gentile in tutto.. Noi siamo stati un po esigenti e ci hanno accontentato in tutto sempre con il sorriso ... Li ringrazieremo sempre..🙏 Le camere Sn in legno pulitissime e dotate di un ottimo bagno spazioso. Colazione ottima sia dolce che salata. (forse aggiungerei qualche cornetto dolce 😜) Si trova a 5 min a piedi dal centro di Tirolo e 10min di macchina da Merano. Hanno il parcheggio privato x le auto! Autobus che si ferma davanti.
