Mill Cottage

It’s a lovely little cottage right next to the old water mill. Very comfortable and everything you need for a self-catering stay. The location is wonderful. There’s a lovely little coastal path that takes you all the way into John O’Groats, 10mins. Easy car access too. Would definitely stay here again.

The cottage was absolutely amazing, the lovely man who runs the cottages met us just after we arrived, he is just the loveliest man. The view from the cottage window was spectacular. The owner gave us great advice about the area and what to see.

Absolutely nothing, it was amazing

Loved the location by the old mill, which is operated on Sundays, and castle ruins along the coast. Proximity to wildlife: a resident otter, hen harriers, falcons, and diving gannets among much else. An easy stroll along an excellent path to John O'Groats itself with its cafes and brilliant brewery pub. Staff were unbelievably friendly. An old building with loads of character. You look onto the sea through an old mill wheel from the living room. And we saw the Northern Lights!

Not a dislike, but you kind of need a car to make the most of this area, and we walked a lot as we love nature and history.

Gelegen in einer alten Mühle, deren Nachbargebäude gerade restauriert wird und bald auch der Öffentlichkeit zur Verfügung steht. Unbedingt besichtigen!! Schöner Weg nach John o’ Groats direkt am Meer entlang. Tolle Sonnenuntergänge am Abend … Sehr hilfsbereite und freundliche Gastgeber!!
