Most awesome location to stay at John O Groats

The location was beyond awesome! The view was breathtaking. The lodge was warm and had plenty of sunshine all day. The beds and linen were clean and overall good quality. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed to cook during our short stay. We will be coming back again next year!

Beautiful and Modern place to enjoy the Northern Highlands. Highly Recommend!

Although this is a remote location it was absolutely perfect for my wife, our two grown sons, and their partners. Hiking right outside the door. Amazing sea views, close to the ferry to the Orkney's. There is a lovely small pub there as well as a distillery and you are quite close to Wick for groceries. Kitchen is well equipped and we were able to cook for six easily. I would highly recommend!

I really don't have anything bad to say. We did have one colder rainy day, but you are in the Northern Highlands and the cottage had a wonderful wood stove that we enjoyed while sipping on some Old Pultney and playing cards.

No light on mirrors in bathrooms, not enough cups / mugs. Tap in en-suite very stiff to operate and wast not working properly.

Amazing, unforgettable views, comfortable beds, great location, lovely kitchen. I still dream about the Jog Lodge and hope we can visit again one day.

Dream-like

The location is too good, and located next the famous John O groats sign post tourist spot. The sea view on Stromae island was magnificient. The apparement was fully equipped, a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and 2 other bedrooms with a shared external bathroom. We received a call and text one day before where they confirmed everything and to cater for any specific requirements. Was like a dream. Great for a nature escape.

Only thing you should know is that the nearest supermarket is 30min drive from that location. It's outside the village/city. I think the check out tjme is too early and they come like 10min before the check out time and expected us to be already gone which made us rush and a bit uncomfortable. But that's not a major issue.

Absolutely amazing lodge. Decor is lovely and stylish. Beds were so comfy. The whole place was clean and smelt amazing walking through the door. It's all the little things that really make the difference. They really thought of everything to make the stay comfortable and relaxing. Already trying to buy the same pillows and toiletries for our house. looking to book again soon and bring the rest of the family.

If I really had to find something the floor in the living area was creaking when walked on which woke up our 6 month old alot, but even then it's a wooden lodge and it's kinda expected.

Travelled from Edinburgh. Great stay, clean and spacious. Would definitely come again. Needs more game or some sort of dvd collection for family. Beds are clean and cozy although pretty warm. Great view of the sea.

A fantastic lodge with everything you need for a happy holiday.

Although we booked lodge 20 we were allocated lodge 22, but it is a Beautiful lodge with a perfect setting overlooking the sea. The lodge is fully equipped for making any meal if you wish, it has everything you have at home, dishwasher, washing machine with built in dryer, fridge and separate freezer. The lodge was spotless and well presented, it has a deck and deck chairs in the lodge, amazing sunsets. A 2 minute walk from the lodge you will find - a kiosk for fish and chips etc, a cafe serving meals, a deli which serves coffee etc, an ice cream shop, distillery, a brewery where you can have a pint and of course the ferry to Orkney or a wildlife cruise.

Relaxing and wonderful stay in a beautiful location with the most amazing accommodation.

We loved the location and the views from the large window/doors. The decking surrounding the lodge was fabulous too. Very comfortable beds, couch and table and chairs. Everything required was provided- washing machine, dishwasher, oven,hob, crockery etc. A very comfortable stay and we wished we had booked for longer - looking to rebook as soon as we cans Absolutely loved everything about the lodge and the location.

Fantastic venue and accommodation with outstanding views in Seaview lodges

Location was fantastic even though we didn't get the Lodge we booked or that I'm doing reviews for (see below). Loved being at John O'Groats and loved the beds, bedding, pillows which often let a property down. The views were stunning from JoG18 which we were in (JoG 20 which we booked would have been even better.) When there was a mix up and we were allocated Jog12 instead of 20, Stephanie, the manager, went out of her way to sort, including responding to my message after 10pm. Unfortunately she was on holiday when we were there or our host grading would have been 'excellent' but there wasn't the support then when we had queries or concerns, .

The initial booking process was very stressful despite being fantastically handled by Stephanie. We ended up getting JoG18 rather than 20 which we had booked through Booking.com- annoyingly it seemed mostly unoccupied for our four days and nights there- perhaps occupied one night. On the second last night a group moved into JoG17 right behind us and played raucous music with the bifold doors open till after 2am. They shouted and sang to karaoke playlists drinking out on the decking. While you expect to have fun and enjoy your holiday all other JoG residents did this considerately. We didn't feel confident enough to approach them as we thought they might stop at midnight but I was awake for hours because of this. There was no number to call-Stephanie lives on site and would have handled it sensitively and assertively. We also sent several messages on with other requests to the link given to us in arrival information with no response.
