It was a dreamy overnight stay and I can’t wait to return already

It felt like luxury accommodation for a very reasonable price

Everything, the room was gorgeous (upgraded to the four poster room) it was spacious, spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. The food served in the restaurant was gorgeous, not a single complaint we had dinner on the evening and breakfast the next morning. The do facilities were amazing. Will definitely return

This charming, traditional spot has its own unique touches. The staff were welcoming, and I appreciated the unexpected availability of car charging. The bar area was pleasant too. Although I missed breakfast since I left before 7am, my overall experience was excellent, and I’d gladly come back

Lovely Valentines weekend despite the weather! Would go there again.

Lovely building and grounds. Very chic inside and food and staff excellent. Outdoor spa quirky but very enjoyable. Very large hydrotherapy pool and sauna and steam room in grounds. Great place to relax when weather good but can be enjoyed inn the rain also! Massage therapy available in converted stables and well equipped gym. Location within walking distance of Wickstead Park lake and funfair rides.

Very minor things - In our room wardrobe could do with more hangers or provide hooks for coats and not enough length to hang dresses.

Very nice hotel with really good facilities, we were offered the use of the spa for three hours which was free but didn’t have the time. The bar and restaurant was very comfortable with a good choice on the menu.

There was some mould around the edges of the shower but otherwise there were plenty of toiletries on offer

Fine stay made great by the garden spa experience

The garden spa was amazing and the staff there were lovely.

A cleaner was outside of our room in the early morning and woke up us. This felt inconsiderate. The breakfast was also cold. For the venue style it would make sense to serve plated breakfast, rather than cold sausages in a buffet container. There was leak stains on the ceiling that were not aesthetically pleasing.

They came to our room at 9pm knocking and knocking we dident answer cause my poartner was asleep once answered he was saying some one had been smoking canabis asked to come in our room and then sad no its not you dident go in to any other room to see if it was anyone else we then went to nip out to the car and when we came back he was stood out side our room then walked off once we came back I'm sure he entered our room when we wasent there witch made us feel.really uncomfortable he then keps walking past every 10 minutes so I looked out of my door and he was there again it was really strange and he made us feel very uncomfortable I also watched to see if e went and asked anyone else but he dident he.must of looked at us and just judged us very disappointed and wouldn't go there again very strange the man he also was rude when he was at the stand where people are waiting to get seated Wouldn't recommend made the stay feel very uncomfortable and dident want to sleep stayed awake most of the night as my partner felt uncomfortable

Lovely building but a little lacking in attention to detail and amenities in the room

Lovely building and a great outdoor spa

I’d paid for a King Room, and was surprised at the lack of amenities in the room. There was a kettle with tea bags and sachets of coffee rather than coffee machine. I couldn’t find a hair dryer, despite searching the room. There was also just a bottle of shampoo/body wash in the room. Appreciate this may sound a little picky, but for £175 a night for room only, I’d expect a little more. The room itself was huge though, with a separate large bathroom which was very nice

Fantastic Spa resort style in an old and fabulous location.

Booked last minute with no prior knowledge of the hotel or facilities. Was really pleasantly surprised with all that was on offer. The Hall itself, the facilities and the staff made it a wonderful place to stay. Breakfast was great.

I had a fantastic evening meal and an equally fantastic breakfast. Staff were superb and attentive.

Maybe a touch pricey food and beverage wise but that is being very picky as the food was excellent and well prepared.

Nice building shame about the staff

Nice building mainly used for weddings. Spa was okay, but the two parts do not talk to each other.

The staff on the other hand were incompetent, rude and very unhelpful. The rooms temperature was way too hot and no way of calling it down. Difficult to keep the windows open as people were doing wheel spins on the gravel car park at 01:30 in the morning. I have stayed here before and it was much better. Will never stay here again.

Great couple of days away

That we had time in the spa as part of our package and that everything was on site that we needed

The coffee is very disappointing and there should be more than machine coffee onsite in this day and age. The buffet hot breakfast was good. The previous days hot breakfast direct from the kitchen was overcooked and dry. Possibly the kitchen hot plates are too hot?

Was looking forward to having a relaxing night and morning which didn't happen

Was very happy to see they had a wet room but with being disable and have severe spinal cord damage after breaking my neck the bed was extremely hard so struggled to lie down and sleep due to its hardness I recommend you get something for the mattress as I had to leave at 3 am and go home because of it and the room was very cold

Disappointed

The grounds we’re beautiful.

Our bathroom has what we can only describe as bugs or eggs growing in the corner of the bathroom on both corners. The plunge bath was marked and had bugs in it. We was also told we couldn’t use the hydro therapy pool until 12:00 because of maintenance however I called two days before to double check this and was told we can only use if there’s availability yet we was the only couple there. We feel quite disappointed in this stay as we had high expectations.

Waste of money would not go back

Very old style.

Ceiling were very low. Husband banged his head few times. The stair case is a big hazard risk. The floor in the bedroom made so much noise when you would walk. Bed was very uncomfortable had lower back pain in the morning.

Lovely old building which had been tastefully modernised without detracting from the age of the place. Rooms a good size with huge bathroom. Staff were all very friendly. Nice quiet location

Menu was a little disappointing in respect of choice although the food was excellent, beautifully presented.
