basic accom, mean supplies, poor quality

location was handy as an off site festival stay, otherwise nothing

Narrow and busy streets, parking difficult. Very steep first floor access, with wobbly steps up to the door. Very basic decoration, permanent marks on the floors in places, obvious damage to some walls. Thin worn out mattresses in rooms, very uncomfortable. Very basic kitchen supplies. Feels basic, mean, inhospitable, overpriced, very disappointing.

Disappointed stay

Parking was ideal

Booked 1 apartment got there. No key. Host sent us to another apartment 5 min drive away. Must of double booked the 1st apartment. The apartment we finally got to stay at was very cold on arrival. Only 2 double beds .there was 3 of us . Stated we needed a twin and a double room when booking. Settee was tiny. Lounge floor was that sticky it nearly pulled my sole of my trainers. Storage heaters fitted so wouldn't get warm until early morning. Apartment has several portable heaters which indicates the heating is an issue. Water tank isn't big enough for purpose. Hot tap trickles out. Not enough bath towels for 3 of us .had to go morrisons to buy extra. No power on shower when using it. Water is too slow. Fridge stunk when we opened the door. Wouldn't recommend this host/properties.

We did not see a single staff member on our stay and also no one come to clean that property for all those days

No cleaning at all ridicules 3 time rang on the number for cleaning but didn't come for cleaning

double bed was incredibly uncomfortable

items within the flat to use, such as hairdryer, and food stuff like biscuits & cereal.

the double bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in and the window coverings (blinds) were not sufficient and let in lots of light at sunrise. Hallway carpet was in poor condition and stained.

We booked the apartment that the review is headlined for but actually stayed in another property, not far away, because of work going on in the original place. Explanation and directions were all go and probably ended up as a better stay for us.

useful room for short stay, not top of the range but also nowhere near the bottom. would use again.

easy to get to, satnav good directions with post code only needed for overnight stay as was working on site at boughton house and needed decent bed, decent shower and low noise neighbrehood.

not sure the difficult parking situation was mentioned, or that the room was upstairs. both of wich would be difficult for folk less mobile than me. MAJOR CONCERN ... front door key box ok. room key pad took 12/15 goes for it to click and open. checked that i had the right code had been given 374. the c button did not seem to click after every failed attempt. when it did work it had made a different loud click. was slightly worrying when trying to get into room late/after midnight. also tried the code when the door was open, often took more than one try to get it to function. the unit may need looking at/oiling! I had to leave in a hurry ... if i have left anything behind .... if you are able to post. 20 witton court stenson fields derby de24 3hx ... i will re-imburse for postage, thanks.

DISCUSTING SERVICE

This absolutely DISCUSTING experience!!!!! I booked this place 2 months prior the event I was attending in Kettering - Foot Health 2022. My payment was taken few days before my arrival. I also did receive message, saying that keylock code will be received on the day of arrival. I did travel on the train from London, so in the morning I didnot check my e-mail for code. At around 5pm I did arrive to address and start looking for my code. I could not find it, therefore I rang the number which was given in my confirmation letter. The host I spoken to was at first surprised for my call and within the seconds she told me that she will call me back in 5 min and rushed to put the phone down. 10 min past and I didnot received a phone call back. So I rang, and rang and rang..... finally she decided to call me back and to notify me that apartment was double booked!!!! To say that I was shocked... no I was fuming, devastated and and just about to burst in tears!!! She told to me to look for a hotel!! That was end of story. After that I tried to call 5 hotels in Kettering, they ALL where fully booked!! I was desperate to find a roof over my head for the night. I was left on the streets in the night time by this person!!!! I would NOT advice this host. And wouldn't recommend to stay here, because you might end upin same situation like me.

Would have been great if the Landlord was polite and customer focused

The place could have been great if the Landlord had PR skills and if she treated us like customers and human beings. She was abrupt and rude when we asked the key code to open the room. Promised to call back but she never did

Treatment by the Landlord and the way she made unfulfilled promises. It appeared as though were were a nuisance when we asked genuine questions.

Rooms inside were fine. Location was very handy for the centre of Kettering. Good, detailed check-in instructions (but you're on your own once you're there!)

Street is a bit of a dive. Not easy to park there - and if you had a nice car you might not want to!

I was n't sure what food would be there and whilst it was great that some foods were there I did n't think opened packets- of cereal for eg. should be left there.

Bad

This is the first bad review that I’ve ever given anyone, having travelled the world on both business and pleasure. I arrived at the property at 11pm after a nice meal at the local Indian with my work colleagues. I felt extremely uncomfortable when entering the property as the other ‘shared guests’ in the property were smoking dope and drinking. I entered the room, put my bags down and decided to leave within 60 seconds; I then slept outside in my car until 3-4am when it got so cold I drove home. I mentioned this to the hosts and offered them the chance to refund my £55 before I put a public review on Booking.com. They were totally unhelpful, claimed that their cleaners noticed that the room had been used (which says it all) and refused to refund my money or even apologise. I would recommend giving this one a miss.

Apart from the above problems, the room was OK

The locks. It took ke 15 minutes to unlock the door one evening. Also when I arrived in Kettering the taxi driver took me to the wrong address, and I had difficulty finding the place. One day I didn't lock my door properly, and the stall removed all my property, but It was returned to me later. Surely they could have just left my property in the room and made sure the room was secure.

The house was close to the park.

I emailed a question and didn’t get a reply! My booked apartment was taken by someone else after I booked it and I was not told. It wasn’t until I phoned to chase my accommodation pass details, as I hadn’t received them, I was told I was being moved! Thankfully I was given another accommodation which was acceptable but very basic. Would I ever book again - definitely not.
