Very quaint.

Really quaint. Stayed 1 night for a family funeral. Breakfast was lovely. Loved the sugar lumps with little tongs. Howel (Not sure on spelling) was great and we had a good chat. Bed really comfy and I slept well.

Good value one night stopover with a very friendly owner.

Very warm welcome from owner, showed me to room, explained emergency procedures etc. Room small & a little dated but clean & perfect for my needs with ensuite including shower. Had an early start so unfortunately didn't get to sample breakfast. Off road parking & easy walking distance to bars & restaurants in area.

A great option if you’re visiting Cardiff but dated

Convenient for the train station. The owner was super friendly and helpful. Car parking Communal breakfast table offered the opportunity to meet new people.

Very dated. The whole house smelt of old cooking oil (including the bedroom ) Also it was on edge of ‘industrial’ area (we drove past it initially as couldn’t believe there would be a guest house there 😬) Breakfast wasn’t great

It was Howell the lovely owner who made it!!! Lovely chap, so hospitable and caring that you had everything you needed!! Breakfast (full Welsh) delicious and hot 🫶🏼 Location for the train station was perfect Asda just round the corner for those forgotten bits

A bit dated yes, but who cares when it was clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was hot!!

Nice, good value guest house but quirky

There’s quite a lot to unpick with this property. The good stuff: - Location was excellent, close to town centre and rail station; - Parking was plentiful and free; - The proprietor was friendly and efficient, he was able to book us an extra night at short notice; - Breakfast was freshly cooked, had a varied menu and tasty; - Room was clean and facilities all functioned as they should; - Price was reasonable as well.

The not quite so good stuff: - It’s a time warp inside - everything is very old. Not sure if this is a negative or not because everything worked as it should but it doesn’t feel modern at all, like it hasn’t been renewed in about 30 years. - Towels were not so nice, old and a bit stiff. Had our own ones with us so not a major problem. On balance I would definitely stay here again, the pros outweigh the cons.

Friendly guest house

The room was warm and comfortable, the availability of different products for breakfast, how helpful Hal was, good location for the train station and ease of transport to where I was going in the evening. All the drinks that were available on the tray in the room

As the bed was a sprung mattress it was a little uncomfortable

Thorough explanation of facilities on arrival. Free on site parking. Flexible in allowing a dog, room facilities were good, nice breakfast. Owner was also flexible with a small extension to the checkout time.

Small patch of mould on bathroom ceiling could be easily fixed.

Exceptional

Howell is the most welcoming of hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Very attentive to his guests. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and delicious. The room was very clean and comfortable, Howell gave us a run down on how everything worked when he showed us to our room. We had a very good night's sleep. Short walk to the train station for us to get to Cardiff. Enjoyed a domino's pizza which is next door, garage and papa john's 2 minute walk from the guest house, very handy.
