Ortigia Guest House Casa Flora

Loved the location, the flat was very clean and in a super location. Ortigia is a beautiful town and well worth a visit. I would definitely go back.

The outdoor furniture was very uncomfortable, the terrace is up a very narrow set of stairs and the steps up to the flat are not the best. My husband fell at the bottom step as it's very uneven and dark.

Znakomity, przestronny, czysty i świetnie wyposażony apartament 3-pokojowy o powierzchni ok. 100m2. Nad apartamentem mieszka włoska rodzina ale zupełnie jest nie uciążliwa. Lokalizacja apartamentu wspaniała - na południowym krańcu Ortigia, 3 min. do morza i kamienistej plaży, 10 min. do Katedry. Okna dobrze tłumiące hałas dochodzący z ruchliwej ulicy znajdującej się tuż pod oknami. Obiekt jest bardzo zadbany.

Ruchliwa w ciągu dnia ulica tuż poniżej okien jadalni i salonu - śniadania jedliśmy przy zamkniętych oknach (bardzo dobrze tłumiących hałas). W nocy cicho i spokojnie. Sypialnia oddzielona od ulicy salonem dlatego w nocy była absolutna cisza. Do apartamentu należy też taras dachowy z widokiem na pobliskie dachy i morze, do którego prowadzą bardzo wąskie i strome schody a przez to bardzo niewygodne. Z tego powodu nie korzystaliśmy z tarasu.

Casa Flora was perfect for our 3 night stay. The apartment was spotless and so spacious. The added touches like the bottle of wine was so appreciate and the we loved the stay! Thank you

Using the key to start with took some practice but wasn’t an issue once we cracked it!

I stayed in Casa Mirabella (the apartment with the beige walls as opposed to the blue ones). Great location in the old town centre of Ortigia. The apartment is spacious, with a living room kitchen open space, a bedroom and a bathroom. Kitchen is well stocked with plates, pots and pans. There are some nice toiletries in the bathroom. Air conditioning works well and kept the apartment cool. The host was responsive and nice and came to the flat promptly to try and fix a problem with the bed when I contacted him.

The apartment was in need of maintenance which had been overlooked in order to keep back to back bookings. Perhaps an option could be to reserve some days as not available for bookings in order to be able to maintain a maintenance schedule and to be able to do regular inspections to find out what needs fixing before it is notified by a guest. I arrived to find some chunks of paint from the ceiling on the bathroom floor. The ceiling in the bathroom had water damage from a previous leak and still had to be redecorated and mended after fixing the source of the leak. The metal bed frame was broken and the bed was very creaky. This improved somewhat after the owner came to tighten the bolts but the bed was actually broken at one its legs so it's likely to happen again if not replaced or professionally repaired. There were other bits needing general maintenance that I discussed with the owner including a broken kitchen cupboard handle, a damaged electric socket and a broken toilet flush button and general redecoration and finishing still to be done around the wall mounted oven and around the glass windows to the balconies. The high table and stools provided were somewhat impractical and I didn't use them. This could be a great place after some maintenance and investing in some new furniture but for now it has room for improvement.
