Location is exceptional, views are stunning!
This cannot be taken away…
I have been to this hotel 2 years ago and unfortunately everything but the view has decreased in quality dramatically, while the prices have increased almost 2 times.
The hotel seems to be completely understuffed, so I cannot blame the stuff who cannot pay attention to serving people dinner and taking care of the sauna at the same time 🙈 they were trying their best.
No-one was there to see that there are not enough tables at breakfast, people had to get up and leave so that the next ones would have place. No-one was there to check the saunas (one out of 2 was completely off, the second one was OK on one day and then again almost off on the next one - the stones were just a bit warm), one pool was overheated (above 60 degrees which is dangerous as some people still tried to get in and jumped out with red legs), the second pool had no wood for heating added for a while, so it was OK some 30-40 minutes after we have added some wood… seemingly someone expects the spa part to run on it‘s own, with no emergency buttons, no instructions how and what and a metallic (!) container left inside the sauna to add water… 🙈 provided the the sauna stays cold it might as well work :) 🙈
I have read later after my big disappointment (it was one of the best places I have been to before…) that the owners have changed recently.
It is a pity to run a place with such a great location in such a poor way… it has so much potential… I hope it will change.

Environment is good as it is near to the top of the mountain.
We have booked superior double room, should be with good mountain view. However we got a quadruple room on 1st floor (the lowest floor) with a lot of insects coming to our room at night. Staff said the hotel is fully booked, but not correct as we saw only few customers. Breakfast room is full of insects and fly. Unbelievable.

We enjoyed every thing about our stay at Rinderberg Lodge. The train to Zweisimmen had beautiful views. It was fun to ride the gondola up to the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful—the perfect mix of modern and mountain, wood and concrete. We were offered lemon water and prosecco upon arrival as the first guests of the summer season.
The staff were wonderful from arrival onward. The facilities are spotless. The views are gorgeous. We didn’t make use of the sauna because it was very hot the afternoon we arrived, so can’t comment on that. However, the garden outside the restaurant deck is a beautiful place to sit and explore. Since we had been traveling with backpacks we were mostly interested in a respite and relaxation rather than adventure and hiking, but the opportunities are here. I enjoyed hanging out with some cows (love the cowbells) on the other side of the fence.
Our dinners were delicious. The chef adapted a dinner dish to be dairy-free and gluten-free for me. GF and DF together has been difficult in Switzerland, but here it was easy (limited but good choices). At breakfast there were excellent packaged gluten-free rolls, fruit, fresh bread, sliced meats, and pastries. I’m going to look for the GF bread in stores it was that good. I had sent a note to the hotel about my food intolerances in advance. There is oat milk alternative here.
I would 100% stay here again. I wish we had another night!
Two VERY minor things that could be improved on: yes, like other reviews stated there were flies. They were a bit annoying but didn’t detract from our experience. Second, the room could use some hooks in the bathroom for wet towels. There was nowhere to hang them. These things would not keep me away.

What an amazing location! You are really up in the hills, makes you feel like you're Heidi or the family von trapp from the Sound of Music. Rooms are quite small but well laid out. Loved the outside hot-tubs heated by wood fires!
Dinner was very disappointing, staff were a bit brusque and the food was poor. Had to send meat back because it was over-cooked and the second try arrived in the same state. Spoiled the evening for us, and it wasn't cheap. Although we mentioned our disappointment to the restaurant staff and then mentioned it again at check-out, nothing was offered to compensate us. pretty poor customer service.

Breakfast was very good .
Accommodation were clean and beautifully designed.
Staff were very helpful.
Reviews didn’t mention that the drive up at night is a long drive on a narrow alpine road . We arrived approximately at 9 pm and the front door to the reception was locked and not lit up . There should be an intercom and lighting at the front entrance for guests arriving late.

Sauna was fantastic. Staff were excellent (helpful and friendly). Location on hill was gorgeous.
Need to plan for location issues. Location is somewhat chairlift dependent. Carpet was beat. Rooms should have frig. Too many flies.

Great location, we were right in the middle of the pastures. Having a dog was a little bit complicated but we were able to do all the trails we wanted to do.....an we got back the hot tubes and sauna!!!!!!!
Sooo great...
Everybody on the staff! They come from all horizons and they do there best. Je suis vaudois/bernois, and did there best and it was great!
Outdoor spa great, incredible sights and sounds at the end of the day!
Nothing...important but as always in Switzerland prices, I understand higher prices but still...everything is pretty expensive compared to other countries. If it goes into the pockets of the the staff (supervisors included) not a problem...at all levels were well treated.

The Alpine Lodge is an amazing place on the slopes of the Rinderberg. We went in summer and we were directed towards some incredible walks bringing us to idyllic places such as the top of the Rinderberg at 2078m. Upon return of these walks a Wonderfull wellness was waiting for us. Hassan was very helpful and you could ask him anything without hesitation. Breakfast and dinner were very good, even if you are a vegan. The chef prepares very nice vegan and regular salat plates with fresh herbs from there garden!! The ladies at the front desk made us feel comfortable and at home from the moment we walked in the door. All the superior rooms have a balcony overlooking the Gstaad valley and mountains. We definitely will come back and we recommend this place to everyone...Love Ine en Ellen❤️
eughhhh....🤔 Nope!😜

This hotel is located right next to the mid-way cable car station up to Rinderberg, above the town of Zweisimmen. As such you have amazing views of the surrounding peaks, and only the noise of the birds, crickets and cowbells. The hotel itself has a pleasing wooden chalet-style exterior, and a very minimalist interior that was still very pleasing. The restaurant is a highlight, with all of the food we ordered very well cooked and presented, and very tasty. The breakfast selection was relatively simple, but with plenty of everything. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel also has a small outdoor sauna and a wood fire-heated hot tub.
The hotel WiFi didn't cover our room on the top floor very well. Also, the sauna is only open from 3pm in the afternoon, and is set to a very low temperature (60 degrees) but obviously these are only very minor issues!

The location is really great. The room is nice with a stunning view of mountains and the starry sky!
The bed mattress is too soft. I suffered a bit back pain the day after.

Location, hotpot with robes and slippers, nice terrace, free parking
Parts of carpet around hotel were stained, no full length mirror in rooms. Reservation on booking.com described “additional bathroom” but this was false.
