Beautifully built houses right on the river front. Lovely ambiance
The fireplace was a bit tricky to keep going but staff very helpful with firewood and starting the fire. Warmed up slowly but beds were warm. And - beware of the road...the road closer to logde is rocky but need not be an issue if you drive slowly. The rural road leading to Aloe Ridge s may be complicated when it rained a lot. Ensure that you have back-up.

The host was absolutely amazing
due to heavy rain and bad gravel road going down into reception parking area it was challenging. reception parking should be paved or at least smoothed out. electricity also tripped twice during the stay. The first time power was off for over 5 hours. Because we are not from the area we assumed it is extended loadshedding or a power outage. 0 signal and no power meant we were unable to reach reception for the entire duration. we did not drive down to reception as it was raining. please consider equipping your units with a UPS so that guests are able to reach reception in an emergency.

The road to the lodge is horrific and the property needs a serious upgrade and revamp. The setting is beautiful but obviously the owner is struggling to draw clientele.
