The excellent and timely free community bus service meant we were well in time for The Gotthard Panorama Express.
The Conventino is quite a long way out of the centre (reasonable given its price) and on the shady side of the valley.

Location wise it was very comfortable to be and my movements, but it's not a town center hotel
The room was so well sealed that it created some condense during the night.
The pillows were too fluffy for my taste.

The hotel is beautiful in a simple, clean, updated way. The room had a great view overlooking the city. There was a Nespresso machine in the room with coffee and sugar, along with 2 free pastries. Upon check-in, the manager/owner brought a refillable bottle of cold water to my room. The room was plenty large enough for 2 people and the bed was comfy.
It was a little far from the city center and you have to take a bus. Trying to figure out which bus was a little difficult since I don’t speak the local language. But once you get there, the views are beautiful.
The only thing I didn’t like about the room itself was the green “nightlight” on each of the 2 reading lights by the bed. They were very bright. However, I propped a pillow against one and hung a piece of paper over the other and that worked fine to block the light.

I have made a mistake by booking a double room for a single person and staff were kind enough to bring an extra bed sheet and a pillow with no extra cost. The room had a nice relaxing view and there was a coffee machine too!
As others pointed out, lack of personnel was one of the issues. I would prefer to pay during check-in (for an extra person) and get service without needing to look for receptionist under heavy rain. I was only told that the booking was for a single person when I went there for the second time. This was due to language barrier, I think. If they can improve the situation a bit more it would be an amazing place.
