Tajimaya and Magome were the highlight of our two weeks in Japan. The food is excellent, the hosts are so nice, and the rooms are beautiful, in the traditional Japanese style.

The room was very spacious and nice, with a view to the river.
The western beds had mattresses that were VERY firm, also the duvets were winter ones on a very warm May. I couldn’t sleep well because of these.

The accommodation is an authentic Japanese house dating back 100+ years, so that itself says a lot. At first the room felt cold, but surprisingly it wasn't cold to sleep at night. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, gave us a nice warm welcome even before official check in time. We had a half board meal plan, i.e. breakfast and dinner, and the food was delicious.
