Kusalo Guesthouse

Kusalo was a great find and worked really well for 7 of us. Expectations exceeded.

Location was fine, the only aspect that wasn’t a solid 10.

Lovely private pool and total sun trap. Beds were so comfortable. Local supermarkets and bar all within a few minutes walk

Wi-Fi was pretty bad a lot of the time. Pool could do with some sun beds so you could sunbathe

(1) I left the originally booked apartment with bad experience and found immediately this one with last-minute special offer etc. and fully paid, then I try to contact the owner for the key, I just recevied a standard auto-reply by a booking agent, not the real owner. That means, other than booking.com there is another agent, so I paid agent fee two times ! (2) Since no written reply from that agent, I tried to call them by phone, it was also an auto answering machine, if so & so press 1, if so & so press 2, I have to input the reservation number even so I hanged up otherwise my IDD bill will be higher than the room rent. (3) I wrote to booking.com CS asking for on-day 4.30pm check in, certainly no reply. (4). I went to the apartment anyway while waiting for reply. I arrived, fortunately, there was a senior lady living there I knocked her door asked for help. She contacted the booking agent by phone so I got the key. The booking agent replied my message only at 8pm sending apology. (5) booking.com even worse, they replied to me 24 hours later saying they are still waiting the owner reply about my check in time, reply 24 hours later by a machine ! (some other messages there-after sending apologies after my complaint). (6) I booked "a double room with patio" in fact the room is very small and the patio is just a common space outside the room next to the miniature pool. (7) I admit that I didn't read careful in rush, in the room, there is not even an electrical kettle, not even a water glass, the little fridge if you buy a 1L water bottle cannot fit in, I stayed 7 nights , they didn't change my towel, not even the rubbish bin. (8) I contacted that booking agent try to book a taxi for airport, they said they will try and let me know, and then disappeared without a word. CONCLUSION : DON'T BOOK ANY ROOM THAT YOU CANNOT CONTACT THE OWNER DIRECTLY.
