The location was superb. The online check in system was very convinient. Room was comfortable.

First 2 days elevator was broken which made it hard to carry our luggages to 4th flower. However they fixed it in couple ofdays so we know this was a exceptional situation.

The location was definitely the best part of the stay. The hotel is in a pleasant and convenient neighbourhood, with plenty of restaurants, cafés and shops within walking distance. It was also easy to get around Berlin from the area.

Unfortunately, there were several things that affected my overall experience. After booking through Booking.com, I realised that I had selected a room with a single bed. I contacted the hotel in advance and asked if I could upgrade to a room with a double bed, clearly stating that I was happy to pay the additional cost. Unfortunately, my request was not accommodated. I was not asking for a complimentary upgrade or any special treatment; I simply wanted the option to pay the difference for a more suitable room. The soundproofing was probably the biggest issue. I was woken up early in the morning by the guest in the neighbouring room clearing his throat, which gives an idea of just how easily sound travels between the rooms. Normal conversations and phone calls can also be heard through the walls. While I was speaking on the phone at a normal volume, someone even knocked on the wall to make me lower my voice. This made the room feel lacking in privacy. There was also an issue when trying to ventilate the room. People were regularly smoking directly below my window, so opening it for some fresh air resulted in cigarette smoke and smell coming straight into the room. The room amenities were also very basic. Bottled water appeared to be presented as an in-room amenity, but there were only empty glasses in my room and no bottled water. There wasn't even a kettle, which I found disappointing for a hotel room. Overall, while the location was good, the poor soundproofing, lack of privacy, limited room amenities and the handling of my upgrade request made the stay fall below my expectations.
