It was the first B&B we have ever been to and it was overall amazing as we felt so welcomed and looked after.

It was homely and well decorated. It had a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast was incredible and kept us full up until dinner with the exception of snacks while we explored the area. The shower was unbelievably powerful and was just divine! The room was spacious and easy to locate. We loved having the freedom to stay out late and not worry about having to ask for someone to open the door as we were provided a key. We have to praise the hosts again as their hospitality was impeccable. Despite us being 18, we were treated so well and weren’t looked down on. We are definitely coming again!

No fridge in the room but it wasn’t necessary anyway as the hosts were exceptional with providing milk whenever needed. I wouldn’t say that it was something we didn’t like it was just something that the hosts possibly could consider to make it easier than having to continuously provide milk. We were also given one tick list for our breakfast and as someone who doesn’t like some parts of a full breakfast and different eggs to my boyfriend it was quite tricky to let the hosts know that we wanted 2 full breakfasts with different things. Perhaps giving 2 tick lists to accommodate for 2 people would solve this confusion for us but it worked out as we were also asked when we got down to the breakfast room.

Great bnb

Central location with free parking. Handy to beach, Abbey and town. Very hospitable hosts who were helpful with suggestions. Good sized room that was tastefully decorated with nice toiletries. Was nice to have homemade shortbread on arrival. Fantastic breakfast - porridge was superb. Highly recommend to anyone staying in Torquay.

Julie-Anne and Charlie are extremely kind and friendly people. My parents and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Briarfields. The rooms were clean and the facilities were comfortable. The breakfast we had there each morning was delicious. We will definitely be coming back in the near future!

A haven! We were looking for somewhere to relax and unwind for a week and certainly found it.

The welcome and the friendliness throughout. Our room was exemplary, what hotel bedrooms should be like. Ours had a sitting area with a couple of armchairs, assuring comfort and relaxation. The breakfasts were healthy and good and the service attentive.

People with mobility issues and no personal transport might find the location just a little challenging as, oddly, there is no bus stop nearby. However, taxis are generally, easy enough to get.

Husbands 50th Birthday weekend

We came with friends for my husband birthday... We had a Really warm welcoming from the start.... couple who owned the B & B was really lovley and polite... had an upgraded room as a present for my husbands 50th birthday from them that was really lovely of them to do that for us....the room was big and lovley everthing we required was in there the bed was really comfortable. food well that was fantastic 😋... I'm vegetarian and the food is catered to your needs on a menu anything else you can speak to them directly definitely be returning in the future ... thank you for having us in your home X

The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfast is absolutely exceptional (5 star hotel level). Our experience was very positively enhanced by the hosts, who are phenomenal and will ensure you that you feel right at home from the moment you set foot on the property. PS: the rooms have air conditioning, which is a must for a hot summer day.

Excellent stay!

Was very clean and spacious. Good location! The air con was perfect after being in the sun all day. Julie-Ann & Charlie are lovely and we couldn’t ask for better hosts, they are friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was lovely, I had the buttermilk pancakes with syrup & fresh fruit and my partner had the full English breakfast and absolutely loved it. We were then given a sweet treat - raspberry & white chocolate muffins - lovely sweet treat - thank you! We Would definitely stay again as we had to cut our trip slightly short due to having an event we needed to attend. Thank you so much Julie-Ann and Charlie!

Lovely stay ...made to feel very welcome by hosts Julie-Anne & Charlie.

Very fresh , modern and well equipped room , with everything one could possibly need for a comfortable stay. Lovely bathroom with good shower, all spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious , many options, both continental and cooked to order.........even had a bonus of freshly baked pastries from Charlie .... excellent ! Would recommend.

Brilliant from start to finish - lovely comfortable and very welcoming.

Everything, the rooms are tastefully decorated, with everything you need for a comfortable stay - the air con, the decor and the fresh milk in the fridge for a brew. The communications were great, as was the welcome and breakfast - well it was brilliant and then the extra treat of freshly made blueberry muffins, what a delight.

Only sorry we could not have stayed longer.

Once again another fabulous stay!

Great location access to the town easy, and town front with great routes to areas of site seeing.i.e. Dartmouth and places like House of Marbles brilliant for the kids amazing history too. Rooms warm, clean and beautifully looked after. Breakfast amazing both Julie- Ann and Charlie work together it's so nice to see as your hosts. Thank you both for a great stay.

Excellent, 5 days went in too quick!

Everything,!!! Found it easily and parked directly in front of it in their parking spaces. Left the car there for the duration of stay as could do everything on foot. Brilliant 1st impressions when greeted by Chalie and helped with bags ans cases. Room and bathroom spotless! Allocated table for breakfast made mornings easy and Charlie and Julie-ann went the extra mile with esuring we and especially me, i had a regular start to the day! The offer of a range of diifferent breakfast options and some being novel, impressed us and the food was excellent. Five day stay and did not eat the same thing twice. The whole place was spotless and quiet. Charlie and Julie-Ann wete brilliant, helpful and friendly, making us very welcome. Located in walking dustance of main areas and bus and train links. Nothing was too much bother.A genuine, fond farewell to a brilliant stay!

Breakfast is exceptionally high quality produce and cooked very well by Charlie. Service with a smile. They are so genuine, warm and friendly.. Great location too. I would certainly recommend this place to my family.. Easy parking in front.

Out of season break

Extremely comfy bed and pillows. The room was spacious with somewhere other than the bed to sit which we really like. The choice at breakfast was amazing and everything was first class. Great position for walking down to the beach or back from a night in the town. Very accessible for other Torbay resorts. Our hosts are very friendly and nothing is to much trouble. We feel we have two new friends

The heated towel rail/radiator doesn't work in the bathroom but we haven't pointed it out so might be us. No lift, but we managed. Parking could be a problem if they were full and you have a big car? The railway is just at the back and found it a little noisy if we left the window open at night but there is air con here so possibly if that was on you might not hear the trains.
