Dalhousie Castle

Amazing stay, friendly staff, delicious food and fun to wander the woods outside.

Near my room, down by the stone hallway, it smelled a little murky. Otherwise the other room I booked was amazing.

Absolutely beautiful! Staff was kind and attentive, the breakfast was delicious and the rooms were gorgeous!

No accommodations for those with crutches. But on the upside, my daughter got to slide down the castle stairs, which was quite fun.

Dalhousie Castle is a truly beautiful and unique place to stay. The castle itself is full of history and character, with stunning rooms, beautiful grounds and thoughtful touches throughout—including the hidden room behind the library, which was a wonderful surprise. The Dungeon Restaurant was exceptional, with fantastic food and impeccable service. Although we were initially disappointed that the spa was closed, the outstanding customer service from Dylan, the Duty Manager, and Melanie, the Restaurant Manager, completely transformed our stay. Their genuine care, professionalism and attention to detail made us feel incredibly valued, turning what could have been a disappointment into an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be returning—spa or not!

The Location

There had been an refurbishment but our room was not finished. The toilet seat wasn’t fitted properly there was no telephone to call reception and the receptionist said the builder had the phones and she would have it delivered , she didn’t. There was no hand soap so I had to go down to reception to ask for some and then had to wait for half an hour before it was delivered. There was only one mirror and that was in the bathroom. I complained to the receptionist and he said he would inform the manager but I have not heard anything from the management. These were not the only faults.
