Charming Tuscan Hotel

We loved this hotel! The staff are so welcoming and helpful. The lobby is filled with details, the decor, suggestions of places to see, bowls of delicious candy… The staff also helped with parking, which was very convenient. The rooms are beautifully decorated and our view was so pretty! Evenings there were delicious hors d’oeuvres and later typical Tuscan sweets for an after dinner treat. The location is good, just a quick walk to downtown. Breakfast is the best I have had anywhere. Hot, savory items, all kinds of pastries and a variety of breads. 10 different types of homemade jams. Huge variety of delicious fruit. Yogurts and cheeses and cold cuts. Homemade baked goods. A lot more. All so beautifully served as well as such nice and attentive servers. This hotel exudes Tuscan charm. We will return!

Lovely peaceful hotel with character and a view

It was such a peaceful beautiful old villa with the warmest and most welcoming staff. I liked also that it was tucked on the edge of town and was very quiet with a great view. I also felt safe walking the short distance up the slight hill to get to town even at night. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in lovely Cortona.

The hotel was superb as was the staff. The room was great and the breakfast was the very best you will ever have. We loved the town which is walking distance. Felt like you were in the movie Under the Tuscan Sun.

Great value exceptional staff excellent service

The staff were amazing and very switched on. Bar fridge complimentary just water and snack but nice touch. Great views from outside the property and one 5 min walk to town. Classy place to go it says 4 start but should be 5 start and breaky had a large choice of food with lots of fruits cereals, fresh orange juice and a hot selection like scramble eggs, quiche too much to describe.

Not much signage outside letting you know its a Hotel. One very small sign on the side road.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay while in Cortona. The comfort is rivaled, the decor is beautiful, the view is breathtaking, and the staff could not have been more welcoming or dedicated to making our stay memorable. We were so sad to leave and are determined to return.

Would not stay anywhere else in Cortona!

The location was so beautiful with a phenomenal view. It was well-maintained with thoughtful details. There were cute accents. Our room was very spacious. The hostess was so charming and cared very much about the quality of our stay. The breakfast was the best we have ever experienced around the world!

The car entrance was very narrow, I wish we knew before as we passed it and had to turn around and get the hotel staff to help us. Otherwise nothing the property was lovely!

Exceptional service; unmatched hospitality; wonderful breakfast

Probably the best hospitality I have ever encountered in years of travel. Marina (hostess) seems to be everywhere -- was there when we arrived late and offered a complimentary wine. Up first thing serving an amazing breakfast. When my partner was ill, she even ordered meals for delivery. Couldn't recommend more highly -- 10/10 on any scorecard.

Extremely generous hotel with delucious food

The hotel is very generous with its customers, offering free drinks and home made Tuscan snacks in the afternoon and evening. The breakfast, like the complementary drinks in the minibar, is free, included. Bottles of water, free. Fresh made Italian cookies under bell jars at bedtime, free.

The little extras that they provided. Most places just do the basics, but they go overboard to make your visit very comfortable and welcoming. The food was delicious; the breakfast is awesome.

Parking can be difficult, but where there’s a will there’s a way. And when there was absolutely no space when evening, they provided the private location.

A wonderful holiday in the best hotel in Cortona

Villa Marsili is a small, cozy boutique hotel where we felt cared for and truly welcome. We had a beautiful, antique-style room equipped with all modern comforts. The breakfasts were exceptional gourmet experiences – everything served was fresh and delicious, and we especially enjoyed the chef’s handmade savory delicacies made from local ingredients. Each evening from 7 to 8 PM, signature cocktails and snacks were offered – greetings to the lovely young man who mixed our drinks! We were able to park our car for free on the street next to the hotel, and a hotel staff member arranged the spot for us. Normally, parking can be difficult during the tourist season, but I believe we would have found a spot a bit further away if necessary, as there are several parking lots around the town and there were spaces available in the evenings. We will miss this hotel and the time we spent in Cortona. We’ve been to Cortona twice before, but this experience and hotel choice surpassed all previous visits. We’ll definitely come back to the same place in the future. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

It was lovely and quiet and clean but very close to the centre of Cortona so absolutely perfect for our trip. The staff were all exceptional from the moment we booked ( giving us great recommendations for restaurants- thank you Davide) to our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble

A wonderful stay in Cortona

This is a small but very elegant hotel in a wonderfully renovated house. It is very conveniently located, being within a few minutes walk from the old town and outside the restricted traffic area. We were allowed to park our car just in front of the entrance. Our room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and offered a spectacular view. Breakfast was wonderful. The staff was polite, lovely, and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. In summary, everything was perfect.

Our stay was FABULOUS!

The staff were great. They parked the car and brought it to us. When you visit you will understand why that’s important. They helped my daughter and me find a pasta cooking class. Breakfast was great too. I got a parking ticket in another area of Italy and the staff helped me understand how to take care of that too. Who knew tickets were paid at tobacco shops?? Beautiful view and people. We spent 5 nights there and would go back. It was close to the train station for quick trips to Florence and Siena.

Renovated old charming house with lots of good taste. Got an upgrade to a beautiful room with a lovely view. Snacks and a glass of wine for free in the early evening.
