The unique building
On arrival. Trying to check in,had to shout because of EXTREMELY loud music. 7.30 on a Saturday night, very drunk people, young children running around in bar. If we hadn’t already paid, we would have left then.
Got to room TV not working, broken window, bedroom furniture in need of upgrade. State of room Poor, request for another room denied!! Red wine kept in chiller!!crisps £3 packet.
Staff clueless, many other issues including poor maintenance..
The list goes on. Recommend you do not stay here.

Beautiful old Tudor building
In the centre of town
Very noisy from the bar and street
Unhelpful staff
Reception is in the bar, drunk people falling over and shouting was intimidating whilst I was checking in.

Location was ideal for my needs.
Room was clean and tidy but there is a light in the ally alongside the hotel that is on all night and even with the curtains closed it illuminates the room. prior to the stay I was informed that my room had been upgraded to a Four Poster Suit. Given the key to a regular double room on arrival, questioned the desk staff only to be told that I had the room I had originally booked and the Four Poster Suit had been booked by someone else. I fully appreciate that I had been offered something at no extra cost, but it would have been nice to know about the change before arriving. Valentine surprise for my Wife ruined. ( The Four Poster Suit didn't show as available when I made my original booking )

Meals were fairly good
Bed was too low and you could feel the struts on the base.
The duvet cover was torn at the bottom
The room badly needs decorating
The lights in the bathroom were not all in working order.
There was only one chair in the room
There is no lift and my wife found it difficult to climb the stairs

Great location. Quirky.
Room was a bit tired, good value for money.
Car park is a public car park 150m away

The hotel is steeped in historic features and is prominent within Gloucester City. We didn't have any negatives about the hotel, it's room or the staff. I would happily praise the staff for their polite and friendly approach to visitors and guests. We both slept really well also.
The breakfast was served by a really friendly and polite younger chap who I would recommend for a more senior role when available as he would deserve it.
Thank you all at The New Inn

The pub is lovely and quaint. Lots of brilliant history. The breakfast was great. The morning staff were lovely. The location was very quiet even for a Saturday night. The bed was a lovely size and comfort. Good central location.
The room was overpriced - £90 for their smallest double with a tiny ensuite. Very dated and poorly decorated with odd mishmash of furniture, wall colours, cracks, peeling paint, the furniture at dangerous angles- a wardrobe threatening to tip over. The hairdryer in the bathroom was a dated wall mounted thing. The flooring was dangerously slippery in the bathroom. No shades on the lights. No full length mirror. No parking despite odd Google mentions of discounts at certain car parks. Just lots of little things building up to a disappointment.

Wonderfully quirky, I don't think there's a flat bit of floor! Its right in the middle of the city.
No real ale in the bar so drank elsewhere.

The room was warm, clean and a good size. A bit basic, but had everything we needed. The building itself is beautiful and quite central, the cathedral is only 5 minutes walk away. The price was fair for the location.
We expected it to be noisy until late, as the pub is open until midnight, but noise continued outside the window all night long and it was really loud. In particular, some lunatic rode past on a bike every half hour all through the night, blasting out deafening music. I didn't sleep at all.
The email we got before our stay with car parking instructions stated we could park in the car park behind the hotel, with a 24 hour ticket costing £8. This isn't correct and I had to call the hotel for instructions. You can pay for a day ticket (£8.45 until 5pm) and leave your car overnight. You then have to buy another day ticket from 7am the next morning.

Gorgeous Historical building. Very quirky rooms with uneven floors and beams which we loved. Lovely cosy bar. Overall a beautiful place to stay.
Wouldn’t recommend this hotel for the elderly or people with disabilities as rooms are up on the first floor accessed by steep stone steps.

Very charismatic hotel with lots of history attached. Very well kept and in a great location.

Large spacious room and even larger bathroom. Comfortable and clean. It's an historic building with lots of quirky rooms and stairs which I love. The breakfast was very good.
Nothing really but the bar area had a fire place, don't know if it is possible but it lacked a roaring fire which on a cold day would have been fantastic.

It is a beautiful old Inn dead in the centre of Gloucester. The Cathedral is almost around the corner. Nice cozy terrace at the Inn. We were there end of October, so it was too cold to sit outside, but the atmosphere is nice. The building is really old, and needs some TLC, but as we understood it is in progress and needs time. My well meant support to that team in wishing you succeed :-).
If we visit Gloucester again, we'll find you to stay the night.
Actually nothing. Just be prepared that the Inn is in the process of adding some TLC. Thank you. I so wish the Inn eill be preserved.

Room totally inadequate. Toilet seat broken and mattress non existent in comfort level. We were given another room which was absolutely freezing and again mattress of extremely poor quality. We chose to leave and not stay.

Very comfortable bed. Good strong shower. Very good value Breakfast.
Location great for car park, city centre and Gloucester docks where the christmas market was on
Very helpful, friendly staff
only downside to room was window looked out onto blank wall with air conditioning unit (I think it was) humming quite loudly outside room, (but not all night). Noise could of been muffled more if curtains were a bit bigger and covered windows completely . Needed a couple of more comfortable chairs in room, just one dining chair

Breakfast on day of arrival was bit cold. Only one staff member working due to another called in sick. Most people who came in for either food or meetings were not happy.
Room was tatty and whilst I know its an old inn there was no headboard on bed and filthy marks on walls where other guests heada been. Pillows were lumpy and bed. Did not sleep at all. Curtains tooi small for window so could not close and room right above outside light on all night

The character of the building and room. Breakfast and late check out.
I didn't like not being able to speak to the hotel directly. I phoned to ask about dropping off bags as the hotel was in a pedestrianised area. I could only speak to an agent who did not know the logistics of the hotel and area. I used a private car park as the one suggested had really poor reviews and I wasn't prepared to leave my car there for 2 nights. Had to walk 15 minutes with our bags to the hotel. Discovered we could have driven to the loading area which was directly behind the hotel which would have been a lot more convenient. Either you need to be able to speak directly with the hotel or have staff that know the hotel logistics or can speak to the hotel themselves. This was very poor in my opinion. Also only one small towel each did not meet our expectations for the price we payed.

Venue and room were lovely. Period design and feel. Good friendly staff. Was only after seeing the hotel itself that I recognised it from Most Haunted. xD
It was a little loud at night, mostly due to drunk guests shuffling to their rooms from the pub downstairs. The bedroom doors are thin and not sound dampening, Which is to be expected from an old building.

Location. Easy for sight seeing, close to public transport links. Lovely part of the country. Moved us into the 2nd bedroom, with heating. Changed to first floor because of mobility issues.
The water leaking onto my bed from the room above. 112 .Taped up cracked window in the first bedroom. Decor very tired, damp in the 2nd bedroom, 105 wall paper under window hanging off . Staff need more training. Imo. Maintenance of property needs more attention.

Comfortable bed. Television worked. That was about all on the plus side .
On arrival we went to the bar/reception to check in . Told to fill in a form and the member of staff disappeared never to be seen again . The only remaining person , the barmaid , who had not got a clue , rummaged in a cup and gave us a key on a broken fob . Managed to find the room - and what a disappointment . Our expectations had not been high but we did expect a bit more . It looked like it had been furnished from a reclaimation store . The furniture was tatty , the cheap curtains did not fit the window, the bathroom sink was cracked , there was no headboard so the paint had worn off the wall and you could see the patterned wallpaper underneath. They had made an effort and put a tiny framed picture on the wall to make it look cosy . There was also a nice new plastic tray for the tea things . Sorry New Inn - we will not be returning.

Central location. Very old, quirky place.
No car park. Very old inn so obviously facilities weren't great. You practically need a degree in hydrodynamics to flush the toilet. Uneven floors and steep stairs.
