If only we could stay forever

Better value elsewhere
Clean facilities and most of the staff was friendly. The saunas were very nice. It is a great place to bring a family, but not have a romantic retreat with your partner.
The food is decent but not spectacular. The ‘free’ lunch buffet isn’t really free. They recoup the costs by charging an outrageous amount for tap water. There is a much better restaurant for a nice lunch down the road. The indoor and outdoor pools are nice until they are filled with screaming children. The overall spa experience is far from relaxing and has more of a family water park feel. The walls to the room are paper thin and the highway noise outside is quite loud. All in all definitely not worth the price point or a 4 star hotel. Unless you have a family of young children, there is much better value elsewhere in the area.

Beautiful spa retreat after a long day hiking!
Beautiful location with many hikes direct from doorstep. Tranquil spa and lovely pool with views. Excellent breakfast and friendly helpful staff.
Drink service near the pool would have been useful to have.

Excellent hotel - very cozy / romantic and suitable for kids as well. Super view over the valley from our room. Staff super friendly. Breakfast very good, "mid-day snack" surprisingly diverse
We had a very nice room below the roof, but i doubt that in full summer you can manage to keep it cool :)

Superb
We had a very good holiday week in hotel Schlehdorn. Very good breakfast buffet and indoor and outdoor pools. The location is excellent and very Central in the Schwarzwald.
The Quality of the dinners in the restaurant was good, but can be improved. We think that the combination of tastes in some dishes was not at its best. Especially some of the sauses.

Nice place to stay in the Black Forest.
The hotel is conveniently situated just off the road and has plenty of garage and outside park spaces. The rooms are nice and quiet, a little basic, but clean and tidy! The facilities are good, the indoor pool was nice and the outdoor pool and sauna were both great!!! The traditional restaurant was also really nice, with good table service and we found it relaxing to eat in the hotel and not having to walk anywhere in the evening. The staff at both the hotel and restaurant were excellent throughout. The breakfast was also nice, especially the omelettes :-) I think the hotel is generally well equipped and good value. I would stay again.
The village is very nice for a quick walk around, but beware that the hours for lunch and dinner are limited. We got caught between and there was nowhere to get any food, apart from the gas station. Not ideal!

Great stay, wish we could have stayed for longer.
The pool, the service, the atmosphere, the room, the restaurant. The facilities here are really outstanding and there's a very comfortable family atmosphere.
Dinner and wine was a little pricey. Could have had better coffee for breakfast. EV charging app was a bit fiddly, having wifi in the basement near the charging stations would have helped.
