Overall a little disappointing

Receptionist was concerned enough to wait late because we were a little late & didn’t want to go before we arrived. Other staff were a little less concerned. The room was clean, spacious & warm. The shower was very hot & very powerful. Bed was comfortable as were the chairs. Room had a nice view & the car parking was onsite & free There was a varied selection for breakfast.

We speak no German but try hard I’m not sure this organisation accepting bookings from English customers tried hard enough to make us feel like guests There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room

This dog friendly hotel is a real gem - however staff attitudes need some attention.

This dog friendly hotel is a real gem - however staff attitudes need some attention. A lovely place in a lovely area - and very much a Black Forest property. The room, cleanliness, facilities etc were all excellent.

This was our penultimate hotel during our European road trip. The staff attitudes were the worst we’d encountered by far and let the venue down. Check in was fine but the evening meal waitering was really poor - we had to get our own menus and the waitress seemed uncaring. Room numbers were placed on the Breakfast table - having searched and found the correct table it seemed an inconvenience to the waitress that I asked for a Cappuccino: she delivered the cup of coffee by simply plonking it on a corner of the table - without comment or saucer. Morning number 2 saw me doing 3 laps of the restaurant in trying to locate a table with my room number on it. I resorted to enquiring with the waitress it’s location - she checked on her chart; my room wasn’t shown! I was then shepherded to a table without any apology. All very tardy.

The facility was absolutely amazing and very very clean. There was parking right in front of the hotel and there is even a restaurant there for dinner.

The steak could have been a little better. The price was a little too high for it's quality.

Great base for a walking break in the Black Forest.

Beautiful location, very handy for a walking holiday, nice modern bedrooms with a balcony looking out over the hills, great restaurant. Helpful staff.

There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, which was a shame after a days walking or before bed. It meant having to pay for hot drinks in the restaurant and take them to our room.

the hotel is in general nice but definitely not worth 121 euros/ night

the rooms were decorated really cute and the location was nice.

the balcony attached to the room had older plastic chairs and a table as well as fake green plastic grass, not really very pretty. the bed was hard as a rock. there was just a small shower with NO bathtub in the room. the bathroom had some sort of an air older dehumidifier or a fan that was really loud and went on every time you were in the bathroom and stayed on for about 15 minutes afterward. this made it quite challenging to sleep.

The rooms are pretty, with a nice view, a modern bathroom and they are very clean.

The breakfast buffet is poor, there’s a relatively good choice if you want a salty breakfast but if you prefer a sweet one there’s hardly anything. We had dinner there twice, the food was good but the menu is average: you could eat the same all over Germany and Austria, there is nothing special or typical from that area to pick up. What really upsets us is that we had to pay everything upfront the moment we checked in. The explanation was, due to the pandemic, in case they suddenly had to evacuate all would be paid and they wouldn’t need to run after each customer to get their money. In that case, though, the guests would lose their money, by paying upfront for more nights than they would effectively stay!!! Unfair.

Great, location, room, food, and best of all amazing staff!

This is an amazing hotel. The staff are probably the friendliest staff I've ever met in any hotel. They were as friendly with each other as they were with their customers which created a really positive and happy vibe around the entire hotel. The restaurant was fantastic for both dinner and breakfast. My room was very clean and modern with an amazing view from the balcony. For anyone hiking the Schluchtensteig trail this hotel is the perfect place to stop for the night as it's right on the trail. The location is equally as good for anyone holidaying in the area. Well Done & Top Marks to Hotel Hirschen

Absolutely recommended

Exceptional team, excellent cuisine, very welcoming, great with kids. We booked two newly renovated rooms and liked it pretty much. The hotel did everything possible to meet all Covid-19 regulations like many other restaurants and hotels do nowadays. That's why it is an act of reckless stupidity to close these businesses in Germany now again for a period of four weeks. Mrs.Merkel & team: you're nuts, clueless and flying blind.

Breakfast was a little chaotic and not very relaxing. When we got to our table there were items left for re-use from the previous guests (orange juice, bread rolls...). Pretty unsettling in Covid times as anyone could have coughed on it

The staff is friendly, good breakfast with many options and the hotel has a very good restaurant. The room is clean and cosy, with furniture like chairs and a desk.

The location is not acessible. The hotel is located in a small village in the Black Forest, so it is good for a night stand during a trip, but it does not have too much to do for extended periods.

Nettes Hotel mit gutem Essen.

Freundliches Personal, Zimmer und Balkon weg von der Straße (deshalb ruhig), Frühstück und Abendessen recht gut. Modernisiertes Zimmer, nett eingerichtet.

Im Zimmer hat man Toilettenspülung und Wasserhahn/Dusche der Nachbarn gehört. Preise etwas gehoben. Bett hat bei jeder Bewegung gequietscht.

Gemütliches Hotel mit sehr guten Restaurant in der Nähe vom Schluchsee. Wir haben den Abend im hauseigenen Restaurant sehr genossen. Ebenso war das Frühstück sehr liebevoll zubereitet.

wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Wir haben ein sehr schönes Zimmer erhalten. Lt. Buchung eigentlich mit Balkon aber das hat uns nicht sehr gestört. Wir haben im Hotel gegessen, es war sehr sehr lecker. Frühstück war sehr gut allerdings Rührei oder ähnliches muss extra bezahlt werden. Ist nicht schlimm denn gekochte Eier stehen zur Verfügung. Sehr bequemes Bett und alles sehr sehr sauber.

Schönes Hotel, direkt an der Strasse

Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet und das Hotel ist in den Hügeln über Schluchsee (direkt an einer recht schnell und viel befahrenen Strasse).

Gleichzeitig zu unserem Aufenthalt hat eine Hochzeit direkt unter unserem Zimmer statt gefunden bis 02.30am. Wir hätten es sehr geschätzt wenn dies uns vorgängig kommuniziert worden wäre. Wir hätten dann den Aufenthalt verschoben. Insgesamt war die Kommunikation und die Kundenfreundlichkeit eher schwierig. Der Lärm von der Strasse ist ebenfalls unangenehm.
