Unfortunately, the bed was uncomfortable, I woke up sore every morning. It didn't bother me too much but the wardrobe door needs fixing.

Pleasant

The location was perfect: close to the train / bus station, and a short walk to the seaside and the restaurants. It was very clean room. There was a kitchen with a microwave and a cooker. The room has a kettle and a small fridge, a heater. The staff was very friendly, explained the door codes.

It was a bit on a small size, the shower temperatures were hard to set, the walls were a bit thin, keep hearing somebody coughing, it wouldmdo with a softer mattress.

No major complaints

Friendly helpful staff. Practical and easy process in and out. Did the job for a convenient comfortable night accommodation. I would recommend for anyone who needs a simple place to stay.

Bit of a small room. Shower fixture seemed to be broken but didn't affect function. Maybe outdated decor, perhaps could do with renovation but ultimately everything was ok. I think my main complaint would actually be how dim the lights were.

Just what is needed for a single traveller. Will stay again

Easy to find, just 10 minutes from the train station if you walk fast like me, easy to come and go with the door code being provided in plenty of time before your stay, being kept updated by email, also very quiet.

Parasol is within a short walk to the centre of the town, the station and the beach. Everything was spotless and the young lady who looks after the place was thorough: she obviously takes pride in her work. The use of a kitchen and dining room was ideal for making a snack or bringing in a takeaway. A fridge in the room was very useful.

The decor, fixtures and fittings are very dated although I must say that everything is extremely clean and well maintained. There are parking restrictions on the road in front of the property and in the evening it isn’t always easy to find a place in the side streets.

Location is ideal as within walking distance of everything. Room was small but equipped with everything we needed, ensuite was lovely.

It was perfect for the occasion. One the rooms was a little on the small side but the other room was nice and spacious. If you want a spacious room maybe request on booking. You have a kitchen you can use and a communal area as well

The mattress was too firm for my liking really played havoc on my back but you can’t please everyone with the perfect mattress so nothing really that I didn’t like

Well worth the price

Lovely homely room, everything that you would need in a room, I went with my mom who is 88 yrs old, she uses a walking aid and managed to move around easily.

Lovely, clean, has a fridge in the room, well stocked tea tray. Would recommend and will stay here again.

As you open the front door you are met with a clean pleasant smell, Sam was very helpful and informative, great location.

Mattress wasn’t our cup of tea but that is just personal preference. Would have liked a hair dryer.

Handy for railway station

Liked the easy check in with a key code and distance from railway station about 13 mins walk housekeeper was really friendly clean towels both days

Room was small and not much room.to move around husband found it difficult to access the wardrobe as he is on the larger side shower was running hot and cold .would also have preferred a lower floor but saying that was value for money for the amount of time we spent in the room

Home from home

It was lovely and homely and as soon as you walked in it smelt fresh. The dining area is great to sit and eat. The member of staff I met was lovely and welcoming. Rooms were very clean

The only thing I didn't like was other people slamming the front door first thing in the morning and it wakes you up as its loud but that's no fault of the guest house it really was a pleasant stay

Even before I arrived, I'd received a full itinerary about parking, door access, room specs etc which I found most useful. The housekeeping & standard of cleanliness is first class.

Our 4th visit and it was as good as ever.

The Parasol is really great value, lovely rooms with all you need plus the bonus of a kitchen with microwave and toaster and a dining room. The housekeeper does a fantastic job with frequent fresh towels/ hospitality tray refreshing and the public areas are kept very clean. The showers are excellent with constant hot water available. The individual code entry system means no key worries. The owner is always at hand by phone to answer any questions. The location is perfect being a short stroll from the sea front and a nice park also easy walk from train station and into town centre.

If you’re looking for a cheap, clean and secure place to rest your head for a short stay then you can’t do much better.

Perfect location, not too far from the main hub and not too close. It was clean, comfortable and secure with the added bonus of street parking from 6PM to 9AM or free parking on some side streets.

Not willing to say anything negative as the service received was reflected in the price and Sam, the host, was very inviting and friendly.
