Adjoining rooms for families.
Paper thin walls - could hear people coughing, tvs’s etc - equally they would have heard us with the kids too. Bathroom is tiny.

Hotel staff were great and location was great
Price is a little high for what you get. I also didnt get the room i expected but after checking the room type on booking.com shows two different rooms that are quite different.

Very friendly hotel staff, very good breakfast for EUR15/person.
Room a bit noisy from other rooms (Shower, TV, AirCo). 2 bed room (11m2): Bathroom really small - not for big man.

Location
The room was not fully separated; there was a door connecting it to another room, and the guests in the other room made a lot of noise throughout the night.

The location is an absolute gem.
The lift are so tiny & still needs to climb up or down to get into the rooms. But still great that they have a lift

This hotel was charming, though a little different than most hotels I've stayed in. The elevator is tiny, and was behind a door, so I was confused about it at first. We had actual keys too, which was cute. Overall, it's just an old, charming, quirky hotel. The room itself was beautiful and spacious. It's also in a nice location, easy to walk to from the metro, and close to the Eiffel Tower.
Just a note that I got a message from them on Booking.com that I had to follow a link to give them more information or my reservation would be cancelled. I got several of these messages. I reached out to the hotel directly, and they confirmed that was a scam and not to respond to it.

The location was excellent. Close to Effiel Tower and other tourist attractions. As well as some nice shops bars and restaurants.
The walls were a bit thin so could hear everything from the room next door.

Room I got was wonderful! Short walk to the Eiffel Tower.
The special room I was in had a bath that drained the jets, I unfortunately used it very late not knowing this, so worried me at first that something was broken and then I felt horrible for the rooms around me. Should come with a warning.

Full of surprises I would say. Several of them are:
- you can’t go away with a key and you should leave it with receptionist every time you leave a hotel (based on my opinion it is lack of my privacy);
- cleaner will just open your door with own key when you are in the room (no knocking);
- cleaner is not aware by reception of late checkout and on your last day instead of resting you will be distracted by cleaner who is trying to make sure you leave the room;
- reception did not make us aware upfront that they need 100 euro cash security deposit and then reception forgot to return it back (it was done only because I reminded about it after reception already told me we are done with checkout);
They have nice breakfast service caring that everyone gets fresh baked croissants and a great massage saloon across the street! I also got a nice view in Eiffel Tower)

The location is perfect, it's just a 5-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower.
The elevator is not working. My room was on the 4th floor. It was shocking. They didn't mention on the hotel page that they do maintenance on the elevator

Hotel Gavarni is in a spectacular spot of 16th Arr.
We travelled for our honeymoon and this was our first stop. The surrounding streets are great for a wonder, quick bite, with nice boutiques and cafes. The main reception and foyer of the hotel are warm and welcoming. The room is huge, plenty of space and a wonderfully comfortable bed which was welcomed after our long journey from Australia.

I liked the location & the breakfast. I got a laugh out of how cute & small the elevator was!
It was SO HOT! No AC or portable fan!

Good location in a more quiet neighborhood
The “family” room was quite small, smaller than expected for choosing this option. Not enough room to sit or spend time outside of sleeping, the adjoining rooms each barely fit the bed and a desk.
We had an issue with a very loud vent noise overnight and ended our stay early. The staff was unable to provide us with a timeline or expectation if the noise would be fixed. So when it was just past noon and we weren’t sure if we would have a quiet room we decided to look for a new hotel. There was no service recovery. When I let them know we were disappointed, the reply was that it was our own fault for not providing enough time to fix the problem. Traveling with 2 young kids, by noon (after 4 hours of waiting) we felt it adequate time to make a decision. After asking, were given a 25% discount for the sleepless night only and lost out on the other 2 days of our stay.

I had a truly wonderful stay! The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and everything felt very well taken care of. The hospitality was outstandin. Kamal made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
A special thanks to Elise and David for their kindness and helpfulness, and of course to the lovely breakfast lady who greeted us with a smile each morning.
The location is also ideal, within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and the Hop-On Hop-Off bus, which made exploring the city super easy.
The stay was not only comfortable but also very complete, from the clean and cozy rooms to the great service throughout. I genuinely enjoyed every moment and left with a big smile.
Highly recommended. I’d love to come back again!

The breakfast and service at breakfast was okay.
The room did not live up to expectations. For the price I paid, it was very basic. The bed was very uncomfortable and completely unacceptable for a 3 star!!! The mattress, cushions and linen were exceptionally poor quality. When I reported it, I was told all rooms are like that. No attempt was made to accommodate me. So I ended up moving to another 3 star hotel that offered way more for a much more reasonable price. It was really shocking that they can charge such high prices and claim 3 star status!!!

Location is good .
Very small and cramped up place .
Rooms are pretty small for 2 adults .
Bathroom hardly allows a person to stand comfortably.
Room prices are very high compared to similar hotels and basis the facilities provided .

The staff were wonderful. The room was adequate and would have been fine, except the bedding had a musty smell. The location was central and enabled us to walk to important sites.
Musty smell of bedding (pillows, sheets, bed cover).

Lovely clean, tidy, friendly staff hotel, fantastically located in the heart of the 16th, a few minutes walk from the Metro.
All great, really, although shower needed a clip to hold up the shower head

The location was very good and the hotel was overall clean. Staff was nice.
The lift stopped at half floors, which means if you have a heavy luggage that is not really good. The shower was absolutely impossible to get in if you were a bit overweight, and the ceiling in the shower was very low, making the experience very complicated. The sink in the bathroom was extremely small too.

This was very comfortable nice hotel. The staff was exceptional. It was a charming facility. I loved the balcony and seeing the Eiffel Towers from my room. I would stay at this hotel again if I’m ever in Paris. The bedding was comfortable 10!
The small lift but I thought it was cute.

Nice quiet location but close to Eiffel Tower and close to hop on hop off bus. Front office staff especially Kabal friendly and welcoming - he always used my name which made me feel like he cared about my coming in and out. Since I travel on my own and am now a senior it is nice to be made feel at home. I stayed at this hotel almost 25 years ago and even though it is a little tired in parts I would not hesitate to recommend it. I had a very comfortable bed in a very quiet room. The bathroom is tiny but adequate - I can’t imagine a man being happy there as I am petite and I found it small!
I wd probably as fir a lower floor next time as the elevator is tiny and I would prefer to walk the stairs

Hotel Gavarni exceeded our expectations. We’ll be happy to leave an honest review for those deciding whether to stay here.
Overall:
We spent weeks choosing a hotel, knowing that a wrong one could ruin our Paris trip. We looked for the right balance of location, price, and atmosphere - Gavarni was the right choice.
Location:
Centrally located, yet on a quiet side street. You hear the city without the noise, crowds, or aggressive street sellers. A short walk brings you to bakeries, cozy corners, and real French restaurants for locals.
Hotel:
This isn’t a modern luxury hotel - it’s vintage, full of Parisian charm. The old-style elevator, stained glass, and marble bathroom details make it feel like a step back in time. Minor wear only adds to the charm.
Rooms:
We stayed in the Eiffel Room under the rooftop. It’s much bigger than in the photos, with 3 balconies showing the Eiffel Tower and Paris rooftops. The morning sun and warm interior make the view unforgettable.
Note: only upper floors get direct sunlight due to the narrow street and buildings.
Service:
Everything was clean and crisp, without the smell of harsh detergent. Linens were changed daily, tea and coffee restocked. Staff were polite, efficient, and non-intrusive - exactly what we wanted.

The location surely couldn’t be any better - I could not believe my eyes when I walked outside and saw the Eiffel tower! I’d for sure stay again for the location alone. Passy also has some lovely places to eat and shop.
I stayed in the single room and its for sure TINY. You can’t keep the toilet seat up without holding it at the same time as using it because the bathroom is so tiny! 😂😂 But the bed is comfortable.

Friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is old and has a lot of character. Our room was clean and bright. It was good to have a safe and mini bar. Everything worked well and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. The location was very central.
The bathroom was very small.
