Gavarni

Great location

Rooms had very thin walls, every sound was heard from other rooms - bring earplugs!

- Excellent location; the main tourist attractions are very close by. - Very comfortable bed. - Kind people and helpful staff. - Nice choice for breakfast.

- Paper walls - I do not know if there was additional reconstruction ongoing above my head on the second wall, but I heard almost every single hit and scream. Noiseproofing is something this hotel does not have at all. - The space between the wall and shower glass cover is super tiny. I am quite thin, but someone with a bit more weight might have a problem fitting in and entering the bath. - The staff is very nice, but quite strict in terms of hours; an earlier check-in is probably something that would not go here easily (full of rules at this hotel)....

The staff and location of the Hotel Gavarni are great! We could walk to get the hop on/off buses and the Eiffel Tower. There are great restaurants & grocery stores around us. I found a wonderful department store with everything from clothes to cosmetics, house hold goods to food. We had a favorite bakery, breakfast & dinner (Sas-passy-paris) restaurant all within 5 mins of the hotel. The hotel also offers a buffet breakfast for 15 euro. The staff were helpful with directions and organizing ubers/cabs for us. Our room offered a fridge, kettle to boil water for coffee or tea, safe & iron. The bed and pillows where comfort. My only complaint is in the bathroom...the shower is scary!! The 1st time using was scary & awkward and I soaked the floor!! 2nd time still scary but the floor was not as wet. I wish I had taken a picture of the shower/tub. It is an accident (potential lawsuit) waiting to happen. Most dangerous/slippery shower I have ever had to navigate!!! The shower/tub should be removed and a ground level or level tub, safer one installed. The shower/bath tub would stop me from booking this place again, which is disappointing because it is lovely!

Bathroom!!!

The location of the hotel is wonderful, close to the Eiffel Tower (and professionally, close to where I had to work). Bars, restaurants, shops and the metro nearby. Breakfast was nice too, not a huge variety, but good and fresh. Lovely lady working there at breakfast.

The room is very small, but the worst are probably the paper-thin walls. Luckily, the American ladies in the room next to me went to sleep at 11pm and I heard their alarm go off at 8am :-) But I could hear every word of their conversation.
